NFL is back and I am watching

NFL fans who boycott the games because of the National Anthem protests by some players are the losers in the debate.
I have been watching NFL football since I was 6 or 7 years old. Every Sunday I looked forward to watching my home town team the Detroit Lions with my Mom and Dad. My Mom who was born in England also was a fan of the Lions and sometimes she would scream louder than my Dad at the TV screen.

I have fond memories of watching the Lions for 60 plus years and I am not going to let some 2 or 3 hundred protesting players ruin the game I love.

My opinion of the players is two fold. It is their first amendment right to protest anything they want. It is also my right to voice my opinion of them and my opinion of them is I consider the protesting players to be over paid America trashing wealthy ungrateful ingrates who I call 'A$$holes'

People can boycott all they want, but I consider it their loss. I refuse to turn off the game that I love all because of a few hundred 'A$$holes'.

That's my take on the NFL National Anthem protests.

Go Lions! I'm afraid they'll be just so-so this year. Great QB in Stafford though. cheering
Just to clarify something I put in the blog. The boycotters of the NFL are not losers. I mean they are losing out on enjoying a sport they have been enjoying most of their lives. Ye choice is theirs. I choose to watch.
I think taking the knee is disrespectful but it is their right. I also think their pay should be severly cut and thumbs up to the brilliant marketing strategies taking place, hopefully the Vets really do get the benefit and honored.

I'm not a big sports fan but the rest of my family is. I love how my son has loved his Cowboys since he was a wee lad. He gets ribbed mercilessly from friends and family but he stays loyal to them and the Hawks. I'm surprised he isn't as loyal to the Bucs or Dolphins since that is the land we come from.
Jim, the Patriots play in the weakest division in football. With the Bills, the Dolphins, and your beloved Jets, there is not much competition.

What do you call a Minnesota Viking with a Superbowl Ring?
A Thief.

Will, it has certainly been that way in recent years, However, the Jets do play the Patriots strong, even when they lose to the Patriots, it's usually a very close game.

I will also remind you, that the only undefeated team in NFL history, was the Miami Dolphins.

Every division had a 9 - 7 team in second place, except the NFC south which had the top 2 teams
at 11-5 and third place at 10-6. One could argue that they are the toughest division with a total of 37
wins.
Last year the worst division was the AFC south with 8 wins for the bottom 2 teams and a total of 27 wins.

The second worst last year was the AFC north with only 7 wins for the bottom 2 teams, including the 0 -16 Browns and a total of only 29 wins for the division.

The bottom 2 teams for the AFC east had 11 wins and the division had 33 wins. Certainly not the weakest division last year. Indeed, the Lions division, the NFC only had 1 more win than the AFC east, for a total of 34.
I'll be watching. I don't agree with the protesters - there are better ways to make your point. By now, it's old news anyway. Have they accomplished anything? I don't think so. I do think that the owners could do more. Technically, these "players" are employees and the owners could be a bit more involved. No one wants to play chicken with their star players that they paid millions for. If they could fine them or suspend them without pay, we'd see who are willing to put their money where their mouths are. I'm sure that their contracts would cover their butts anyway so it would more than likely be a moot point. All in all, we are a big Chicago Bear family and I will be watching Sunday.
As I have said all along, Americans are not about to boycott sports in substantial numbers. That's how Nike is betting, by hiring that ex-quarterback who first "took the knee."
Put your money where your mouth is if that's what you really thought. Is the fun worth being a weak and hypocritical loudmouth?
Why would you pick hedonism.. this could be the first time you do something honourable in life and possible the last chance to do so. Being old you'll be dead soon anyway you should be thinking about your soul.
I believe everyone has the right to form their opinions and voice them....BUT with that said I believe they take the wrong platform to do so....such as....Football, the Award Shows, the talk shows.............. Keep football the way it is and should be and keep your comments and actions to yourself on your own time.

GO BRONCOS!!!!
The Minnesota Vikings don't allow their players to jump into the stands ala the Lambeau Leap.
Why?

They don't want their players to get injured falling on empty seats.

GO PACK! cheering

Didn’t see that game but just watch it on utubebanana
I hadn't heard the worst rendition of our National Anthem, started to listed to Miclee's video but it was too painful. Ouch
Some claim this is the worst rendition ever...

I heartily disagree scold
That's probably how most Murkuns sound when they try to sing it!
choir
It's the 'everyman's rendition' - very egalitarian.
