Shred your paintings ?
Moments after a painting by Bansky was bid on at a Sotheby auction for over $1,300.,000 yesterday,a shredder concealed within the painting by the artist was activated and it shredded the painting right in front of everyone.
Believe it or not, some predict that prank will actually cause the value of the painting to rise.
I guess the event changes the meaning of the statement, "wow, that painter really shreds".

Please provide a link for the story of the shredded painting being only a copy.
It would also depend upon if he sold it to someone with the caveat, that it could never be sold at
an auction (or never be re-sold at all).
Who or how many were involved. Speculation as to why the electro-mechanical shredding device built into the frame wasn't detected by an x-ray scan. Sounds like it's normal procedure with Southeby's to scan everything that passes through their doors. Who actually pulled the trigger that set off the shredder right after the close of the auction.
One comment I read states: The auctioneer says "Sold for eight hundred sixty thousand" If that's US dollars, the conversion would be £655,000 and not the £1.04 million in the story.
Hmmm....
