Apolitical Blog---as much as possible.

So, I was trying to think of this, but it seems to me that almost every topic either has a political aspect to it, or can be stretched in that direction during one of our rants. So I started thinking about one of the things that most gets me going on one of my solipsistic spiritual tracks. Just looking at the dark night sky on a clear evening, away from city light pollution. Who doesn't get inspired by the mysteries and wonders there? I'll tell you who. Our animal pals. Bravo looks up at lots of things, ---squirrels, big birds, even some insects when these are close to his big head. But I've never heard of animals, even the highest mammals, star gazing. Same with my great smart dog. But soon I think of things political as related to our universe. But only with a real stretch.

when i work late, and take an evening smoke break, i stare at the sky. sometimes i think i see mars, sometimes, venus. the evening sky is the most soothing of all visions, i think.
i like you, A. i'd have a McCoffee with you
In January, I was driving home around 1 a.m after visiting with a friend who was dying. She lived in a small town about 30 minutes off the main highway so the night wasn't distorted by street lights. I pulled over and parked in a farm track and got out of the car and started walking. An incredible sense of peace washed over me. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and looked up to see the most amazing display of Northern Lights (and I've been blessed to see many!). When I got back to my car, there was a message from her husband saying that she had passed quietly and with a smile five minutes after I left. I like to think that beautiful display was my dear friend, Rita. I'd have aMcCoffee with you too if politics were not invited. cheers

Sky-watching - I heard somewhere, I think on QI, that the ancient Greeks didn't have a word for the colour blue. So not a lot of daytime skywatching there, since Greek skies usually are blue laugh

Apparently when they did refer to the sky they said it was bronze. confused

Wolves do howl to the moon ...
During my student days, I wasn't much of a sky gazer. But on drunken weekends, there were moons aplenty in most mens' residence Windows. Some womens' as well. And the Goddess has struck here. The new coffee at this Mickey D's is quite drinkable. Just no longer useful for de -rusting chrome trim on vintage autos.
Holy smoke "solipsistic" have to look up that word
The things I learn at CS
I am always in awe when looking at the starry skies, we are just little nothings wave Jenny
Yes, Jenny, Looking at the night sky, and into a microscope, has a way of placing even me right back into my little box. In these regards, I chuckle when some preachers go on about what God thinks and what the Goddess wants for us all. It's like the smallest flea looking up at me, and having an opinion on what I'm thinking about. Takes all kinds, no?
