Non political blog Nr. 2---sort of.

Lobbiests. Just was at a meeting of one of my Professional groups. Senior section today---go figure. None were as young and svelt as I. Had for this meeting, as presenters, a gaggle of Maine government Lobbiests, waxing self serving on the next legislature, election predictions, and such. At Q&A, which was mostly on policy, I asked the meta question "the public often ranks your groups with lawyers and used car salespeople. Does the "profession" have licensing and regulatory boards, exams, etc., the way even cosmetologist so do, not to mention what physicians have to deal with." Answer, "the legislators love us. Their worst fear in not having us at public meetings, as they know so little about the issues. Furteh, and they all like us, our involvement isn't like the mess in DC". Should have expected such fox guarding the hen house answers.
