A hellish existence for them back then, I’d imagine.
And it can be very difficult to recognise for unwell and well people alike. Depression can be interpreted as laziness, or even 'flu-like in it's symptomatology.
In saying the above what I don't understand Track is how your in love with pot yet you shouldn't smoke pot when on medication yet it's us who should feel shame for not understanding those who aren't doing the right thing in regard to mental illness to begin with.
I’m unsure what type of healing you offer?
Most serious forms of mental illness are treated by fully qualified professionals specialising in mental health who have had years of training, as we’d expect a cancer patient to be treated by an oncologist, a person with mental illness is treated by a psychologist/psychiatrist. Even counsellors have a mentor they can offload to, after intense sessions.
I won’t comment on alternative methods of healing as I’m unsure how effective they are, if at all.
I will say mental illness is not a weakness. On the contrary it takes extraordinary strength to endure.
Some mild forms of mental illness, such as a mild depression can be safely self managed with daily exercise, a healthy diet and keeping drugs and alcohol to a minimum.
Track, you would feel better if you kept off the pot. JMO.
Michael Bolton?
Unforgivable
Go ahead try:
I’m not ordinarily a Bolton fan but that rendition was good.
I didn’t need a bong to enjoy it even
Wallowing in self pity is not the answer.
That motivation in making appropriate changes to lifestyle may help.
That motivation in receiving professional assistance may help.
It needs to come from within however.
I’m no expert on mental illness. I’m merely drawing on my own experiences with depression and what works best for me.
Molly the thing with you is your opinion always end's in that's not true because Molly says so even when never having been in that particular situation no matter the bloody topic.
Speak for yourself instead of making out certain situations are BS because you can't fathom why certain people stay in certain situations or why they got caught up briefly in certain situations.
Or, "You're inflicting it on yourself."
Come on, out with it.
I respect your intellect and opinions. Chew the cud with me.

Any chance someone to post the actual link?
It would be appreciated.
As for wallowing, or dwelling, these are very often self-talk concepts within mental illness. Depression very often affects the toughest of people, the ones who keep going, keep picking themselves back up in the face of adversity, until they become exhausted. I mustn't wallow, I mustn't dwell, I must keep going, I must keep up appearances, I must support others with no thought for myself.
The reverse is actually more realistic. Rest is very important with respect to depression. The body becomes lethargic for a reason. Dwelling is healthy if directional: it's only when we become emotionally aware, explore the roots of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours that we may begin to find alternative pathways.
Exercise to boost neurochemistry and distraction to provide relief are also healthy, but not one at the expense of the other.
TEDx Gabor Mate.
i’ve shared my personal knowledge and experience of depression. For me excessive amounts of alcohol and pot only compounds the problem, so I stay away from over-indulging.
The lifestyle changes I made have worked for me. Though what works for me may not work for another.
Track is an adult. He wil do what he feels is right for him at the end of the day. I can only recommend what has been successful for me.
What is your issue with my comments?
The key to it all is everyone is considered normal until their behavior that the social norm does not approve of is measured accordingly. For example if a soldier disobeys an order and does a crazy act if he is successful he is a hero if he fails he is court martialed and or section 8. Another example is if a child acts up and does silly stuff he is laughed at. If he continues to do stupid behavior he is reprimanded and eventually questioned by psychologists or psychiatrists. In a criminal case the same applies. For example if you get caught doing a crime be it simple such as a DUI or theft or an out right murder the first thing the courts do as part of sentence is to have the perpetrator to seek counseling. People can go for a long time acting reasonably normal until one day they snap. Throughout the CS community everyone puts on a show of how normal they think they are. Yet, in the real world outside of this one we have no clue how messed up people are.
