Mic, one way or another our earth will have it's end.

Billion years in existence, I'm not surprised if it comes sooner. wave

The world's most viewed site on global warming and climate change
Bring on some climate change. It's too darned cold out. Brrrr. mumbling
Yes the climate has changed back and forth since begining of time as we know it.

An ice age was found recantley (last 30years) ha ha that a full dinasor was frozen and they just found it and found grass in its stomache. Must have happened quicker than our climate change.

The land was joined then separated by the seas, its all happened and will continue so.

The problem for man is the conservation of energy and keeping earth clean for future generations.

Our seas are full of plastic and unlike trees and insects that die will not make preciouse stones or fuel. The plastic stays and our fishes bellies are full of the stuff.
We experiment and chemicals enter air this kills people.
So many other things that foolish man has done to the earth and we can see it with our own eyes in our lifetimes destruction.
Man does not do a thing they label it
Global warming ha ha
Thanks for posting that.
Here is a much more updated conference on global warming;

We can't stop anything that's happening Mic. I just go with the flow. wave
I watched part of nast's vid.
Dr. Guy McPherson was on the panel. I know his position...
"Nature bats last, game over"..."Hope is a really bad idea."

That's 'bout it linds.
We're like the kid at the back of the toboggan...just along for the ride.
Hang on. It might get wild before it's over.

Again from Dr. McPherson...
"We didn't ask to be here. We were born into the Captivity Of Civilization. We will get to be here to see how it ends."

Re computer models, conferences and discussions.
"All models are wrong. Some are useful".
- Richard Feynman

Whatever one conference speaker/panelist (or comic-pundit) says...another will say something else.

But...
Ships sailing the Arctic Ocean, Arctic methane blowouts & measured increases in atmospheric methane...those are real. No denial allowed.

What exactly they will lead to - and when - might be speculated upon.
But they portend a 'solution' to the 'problem' of Global Industrial Civilization.

Again from Dr. Shakhova...

hmmm

We could use some comedy relief. And perspective.
This from George Carlin...

I don't think we can fix climate change - the planet has gone through cycles for millenia. I think we could have fixed pollution and stopped fouling up our oceans and our air but hey - the governments we have nowadays aren't about to put people and futures ahead of profits. Not while people remain stupid enough to vote for and support the looters, and it seems the world is collectively stupid enough to do that.
Yes, for the first time in the history of the current white man civilization the Northwest Passage connecting Asia to Europe is open.

A problem Canada is having is unauthorized immigrants (and raiders) from Asia and Europe landing on shores which were previously ice bound and not accessible. As a result Canada has contracted with the US Navy to rent some US crewed destroyers to patrol Canada's northern coast lines since Canada's current budget does not allow building up her navy.

The real problem is not global warming, but too many people.

Should the Earth's temperature begin to rise to a high enough temperature to threaten food crops and bovine life, the solution will be the same one the Sumer tablets tell us the Anunakai known as Mardok employed 35,000 years ago in his own attempt to eliminate mankind. Direct an asteroid to Lagrange Point 1, then smash it to dust. Mardok used a big asteroid so our Great Ice Age lasted 15,000 years (and came pretty close to being a total success) before solar winds pushed enough of the dust out of the way for the Earth to begin to warm again. Smashing up something smaller at the L1 point should serve our needs nicely and bring temperatures back to normal for a century or three.
Well, good points, Micman. But for me the biggest problem is population----of us humans.
Climate Change (specifically, Arctic methane release) will solve that problem, V.
It's a major part of solving Global Industrial Civilization, you understand smile

Ken!
Canada is controlling illegal immigration?!?!
confused
Isn't EVERYONE welcomed there to a big Kumbaya Party group hug
I am shocked. SHOCKED, I TELL YOU!

Great point, Drae cheers

We've been repeatedly warned - ASSURED - of our impending end...only to be let down sigh

A few examples...
Ca 1840s - The Millerites.
1910 - Gases from Haley's Comet was gonna kill us all.
1914 - Jehovah's Witnesses take over where the Millerites left off.
1930s - Record heat/Dust Bowl (possibly man-made) heralds doom.
Post WWII - Nuclear annihilation.
1970s - Cold waves (probably man-made) herald a coming Ice Age.
1970s - the book, 'Late Great Planet Earth' inspires a generation of folks predicting imminent Rapture...notably Harold Camping & his several Rapture-dates.
2000s - EnvironmentAl Gore cancels the (probably man-made) Ice Age and capitalizes on (certainly man-made) Global Warming.

We've heard it so many times & ways we're inured - immune - to it.
I've coined it 'The Harold Camping Effect'...I have my own coined term - COOL grin

Aesop dubbed it The Boy Who Called 'Wolf' fable.

So.
What's new THIS time 'round?
Ships ARE traversing the Arctic Ocean.
There IS a staggering amount of methane in the East Siberian Arctic Shelf.
And it IS venting to the atmosphere.

Is this man-made? Is it part of a natural cycle?
Who knows? Who cares?
In the words of a former U.S. Secretary of State...

Has Dr. McPherson gotten it right, "We'll get to see how it ends," when so many - from the Millerites on - have gotten it wrong?

dunno

cowboy
There is no such thing as "Global Warming" Thats a term made up by a group of leftists to make a bid on "Human Control"

The Deserts Everywhere were not caused by Humans....."The Sun" "The Ocean" were
Man did not cause "Volcanoes" Man did not cause Subduction, Extiction of the Dinosaur, Flat Earth rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Leftist Liberals Caused "Global Chaos" Divide and Conquer, Political and Social Ignorance scold
"There is no such thing as 'Global Warming'. That's a term made up by a group of leftists to make a bid on 'Human Control'."

Possibly so, My_.
But the two aren't mutually exclusive.

We know the climate changes...Ice Ages, Warm Periods, Little Ice Ages, etc.
It's happened without being caused by humans.
It may be affected by human activity.

And, whatever the cause, it certainly could be used by "...leftists to make a bid on 'Human Control'".
A worst case scenario, one might say. sad

Whatever.

If East Siberian Arctic Shelf methane is abruptly released, it may solve Global Industrial Civilization; we won't have to contend with leftists bidding to Control Humans.
very happy

cowboy
uh oh

Another possibility...
Global Warming is real and It's man-made.
But CO2 has NOTHING to do with it scold

The "Global Warming" we hear about is a cover story to distract the sheeple while the elites implement their plan to exterminate 80% of us.
And the plan may have gone horribly awry hole

Trust #1 tinfoil hat
The problem is humans. When will they wake up dunno
Eliminating 80% of the human population would indeed solve a lot of problems.
It keeps coming back to that, eh ken? sigh

Besides potential methane release from failing permafrost, there are other issues that bode well for a solution to Global Industrial Civilization.

Green plants breathe in CO2 and breathe out oxygen - the stuff we breathe in.
As red has noted, the oceans have accumulated much plastic. Also other stuff.

Green marine plants - phytoplankton - produce about 1/2 of Earth's oxygen.
Phytoplankton has decreased about FORTY PERCENT wow
Result?
We've lost about 1/5 of Earth's capacity to remove atmospheric CO2 and produce oxygen - the stuff we breathe.

Trees also convert CO2 to oxygen.
Prior to Global Industrial Civilization, forests covered 16 million sq. km.
Fore to 6.2 million
Forests now cover 6.2 million sq. km. - a reduction of about SIXTY PERCENT wow

Global Industrial Civilization is not merely contributing to its solution by changing climate.
It's literally cutting off its own oxygen supply.
Kinda insane, if you think 'bout it.

confused

Quote: "Climate models without positive feedback loops are as helpful a description of climate as a 'scientific model' of a match stick which leaves out the head."
- Natalia Shakhova

The problem is that the scientists used formulas that pertain to electronics (1945 Bode). A formula for the amplification of sound was applied to the data of non-condensing atmospheric gases.

This feedback formula - for electronics - was cited in several papers as the basis for climate feedback.

Has anyone followed this case?
Texas is a huge problem..
Feedback loops are complex, Kay.
And some (clouds e.g.) have both positive and negative effects...

Methane is the 'wild card'.

As noted in previously posted vids, the amount stored in Arctic/subsea permafrost is enormous.
Observations done by researchers with mukluks on the icecaps & research vessels show that it is venting - being released to the atmosphere.

Will it continue to be released at currently observed rates?
Will negative feedback loops (increased snowfall e.g.) slow the release?

And the BIG question - what would be the 'climatic consequences unpredicted' should very large amounts of methane be released abruptly? uh oh

cowboy
"Texas is a big problem."

wave Merc!
No. Texas is NOT a big problem. scold
I know a woman who lived there; she says It is a lovely place. smile

The problem - according to her - is TEXANS devil
