Democrat calls for death of Republican's family. Now the typical norm for Democrats

An Illinois state Democratic lawmaker is facing increasing pressure to resign after she called for the deaths of a Republican lawmaker's family during a floor speech this week.

Democrat Rep. Stephanie Kifowit said she wanted to pump a "broth of Legionella" into Republican Rep. Peter Breen's water system so his wife and children would "be infected" and "ultimately die."

"I would like to make him a broth of Legionella and pump it into the water system of his loved ones so that they can be infected, they can be mistreated, they can sit and suffer by getting aspirin instead of being properly treated and ultimately die," Kifowit said in a fit of rage.

Kifowit's horrifying remark "came just before the Illinois House voted 71-36 to override Gov. Bruce Rauner’s amendatory veto of a bill to increase the cap the state pays in civil litigation cases from $100,000 to $2 million," The Chicago Sun-Times reported.

A few minutes after Kifowit's shocking statement, Republican Rep. Jeanne Ives came to Breen’s defense on the legislative floor.

"How dare you concoct up some sort of story about brewing up some batch of Legionella and having him feed it to his family," Ives fired back. "How dare you take the discussion and the debate about a very serious bill that has a huge cost consequence on both sides, both for the victim and the state taxpayers. How dare you take an honest debate about an issue and then wish death on my colleague Peter Breen, his wife and his two adopted kids."

Yes, I understand.
At the very least this woman should be censured but at best this type of rhetoric is a violation of House ethics. If a Republican had said it....yeah, yeah, you can finish that sentence readily enough. And with the coming of the 'resistence' in January it will get worse. At the end of 2 years this country will be so fed up with the demos and their idiocy don't be surprised if OAC gets the 2020 nomination with HRC as her running mate on the LGBTQ ticket. That should break the glass ceiling for every gender, species and demographic.

You need to argue using actual, ahem, arguments... Mike drop.. laugh
Well, think about your broader point, W. If your toddler somehow got lost in a crowd, which would you rather have. In the middle of a tea party rally---or among the crowds in 68 Chicago, or Seattle a decade ago?
well,Joe,you had better see you Eye-care Specialist ASAP!comfort
And if your Eyesight is adequate, you just told a blatant Lie!
Like the typical dim, Joe suffers not so much from a correctable vision problem, but from an uncorrectable myopic minds eye.wow

Funny, I ran a blog about a dramatic and ludicrous accusation and was told, by a Republican, that it is perfectly okay to say outrageous things to make a point.

And of course the point being made was carefully left out of your blog. Because, well, say no more. roll eyes

So it is ok for Republicans to tell whoppers for shock value, and to get their point across in a wave of reaction, but absolutely diabolical for Democrats. confused

What a strange lot you are.
Conrad, I'd rather have Scotch whiskey
Democrat Rep. Stephanie Kifowit What she said is pretty serious to say the least.
I would very much like to see her apology wave

J - Rick Snyder is no longer the Governor of Michigan. They now have a Democrat governor. That being said, it will now take years to fix Flint.
This blog is about [ Democrat Rep. Stephanie Kifowit said she wanted to pump a "broth of Legionella" into Republican Rep. Peter Breen's water system so his wife and children would "be infected" and "ultimately die." ]
