Uninvited Holiday Guests
I wish some of my neighbors would return from vacation. Not that I miss them; I want to give them a piece of my mind for abandoning their pets while being on holiday. It t started when I found a strange black and white cat eating my cat’s food. She took off like a rocket when she noticed me looking on but I put out more food and we soon became friends. But she appeared to have a split personality. The one day she would purr as loud a diesel engine and even allow me to tickle her tummy and the next time she would take off like a rocket again when I approached.
It took me a while to work out that they were in fact two very similar looking cats; probably a mother and daughter as the wild one is not fully grown. Eventually she came to trust me as well and I had two guests.
Then came the ginger tom-cat. He still does not trust well enough to allow me too closely but he’ll come back into my house when I retreat. Apparently he likes my food but not me. And yesterday arrived another grey female feline. Now I have – other than my own cat – another four mouths to feed and my cat does not like it at all. His eyes are squint and there are fleeces partly covering his eyes.
I called a vet and she said that my cat feels threatened. All I want now is for their owners – I have identified them by now – to return so my cat can have peace again.
There should be a law to compel people to make arrangements for their pets while on holiday.

Whatever about a law, people should be responsible enough, and care about their pets enough, to ensure they are cared for before going away
I never plan even a night out without ensuring the animals are looked after. And I have never booked a flight before making arrangements for them first.
If you don't have friends or family to do the needful, the are catteries/dog-minding services available.
People should not keep pets unless they are willing to take full responsibility for them.
When I go for a long period of holiday, I’d get my Bangladeshi handyman to feed my cat.
If it’s just for a couple of days, I’d get the student tenants above my house to feed the cat.

Happy holidays and all the best for 2019 .
My sister and her husband is away on vacation at the moment and by convention we seldom go away together as one of us have to feed my cat and her three dogs. These people are thoughtless. I'm sure any of the neighbors would have feed these animals if they were asked; they all keep pets.
Maybe I must expand upwards to get one a two female tenants upstairs.
I'm more concerned about my own cat. He does not fight with them but he certainly does not like them. I fear that he may run away.
Don’t be so choosy, Catfoot, wanting only female lodgers
Thanks. And don't believe that I won't tell these people what I think about it. They'll know all about it when they come back.
nice pic of Arty and your handyman but you did not yell me who is who.
I have to be choosy. I don't want and Tom, D?ck or Harry living above me. Sue, Mary or Anne sounds much better.
That’s Amin in yellow and at this moment he’s my handyman.
When I get to the US, Art will be my ‘handyman’ Arty is good with his hands
If you plan to go to the USA you better get there before the wall goes up
I don't understand why he wants to build a new wall. China has one they don't use. Why does he not buy their one. I'm sure they will let it go for a decent price.
Yes thanks! doing just fine. I hope to find you in the same condition.
When you have cats around, you will have "purranoia".
You could be right. Maybe I'm just purranoid.
These cats do have owners who normally care for them. I established that quick enough but they are away. The two black and whites are from as close as three houses away.
I should be there for the upcoming Easter. Arty would be MiMi’s ‘Duracell Bunny’
Not scared of walls, hey?
Cats do that, but this lot is different. It rained quite a bit on boxing day and the had no shelter. The serenaded outside until the door was opened and they refused to leave until the rain stopped. I had to put up with three of the four all afternoon.
