Limousine Liberal Nancy Pelosi Basks in the Hawaiian Sunshine for the shut down

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), House minority leader and, most likely, soon-to-be House speaker (D-CA), is enduring the partial federal government shutdown at a luxury resort in Hawaii.

Pelosi, who has put blame squarely on President Donald Trump for the current government shutdown, was spotted Thursday vacationing in Hawaii at the Fairmont Orchid resort, where room accommodations range from $899-a-night for a standard room to $4,899-a-night for the presidential suite.

The resort, on Hawaii's Big Island, features a golf course, six restaurants, and a 10,000-square-foot oceanfront pool. It also features a "Spa Without Walls," where the 110-minute Ali'i Royal Experience is available for $369 and a 50-minute couples massage runs $549, according to the spa menu. While at the spa, guests can snack on a gluten-free grilled prawn summer roll for $19.

Trump canceled his Christmas trip to Florida and remained in the White House, saying on Christmas Eve that he was "waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal." The president left the White House on Christmas to travel to Iraq and meet with American troops stationed overseas.

Trump has been holding work meetings since Congress went into recess, including one with Department of Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on how to fund the administration's border security plan.

Pelosi, meanwhile, has been speaking to the press. She gave an exclusive interview to USA Today just before Christmas calling Trump a "fear monger."

"He talked about terrorists coming in over that particular border, which wasn't so," Pelosi said. "He's using scare tactics that are not evidence-based, and it's wrong."

Trump has said he will not sign a funding bill that doesn't include funding for construction of his border wall. Pelosi is set to take over as speaker of the House in the new year, setting off an immediate standoff with the White House on legislation to reopen currently unfunded federal agencies.

This is not Pelosi's first holiday vacation to Hawaii. In 2011, it was reported by the Hawaii Reporter that Pelosi had in previous years stayed in a $10,000-a-night suite at the Four Seasons Resort in Kona for her holiday vacation.

The optics of the Democrat Socialists vacationing instead of working to resolve serious issues is breath-taking. popcorn
The solution is not up to the Dems, it is up to the liar in chief, he called it, he can stop it. simple reallysigh
Who is defraying the costs of her luxury accommodations? The tax payers? I wish she would retire and take a permanent vacation! laugh
Pelosi vs Trump

Coming to a theater near you January 3, 2019.

cool
But aren't Pelosi and the rest of the Legislature forgoing a payday like thousands of other federal employees? Not? Say it ain't so!
Is this Nancy Pelosi woman the only prominent politician to go on expensive vacations? Is she paid more than all the rest? And is it realistic to expect them all to go to Iraq over Christmas? I don't know anything about the situation you are speaking of, but it does seem that you are being highly selective in the way you are presenting it.
Yep, W-man. Rumor has it that in younger years, before gravity got those mammas, she was hot. Red knees can lead to many high places.
So, what is your point?

Congress is on vacation. Congress is not in session, Pelosi takes a vacation, you have a problem with it. But you don't seem to have problem with Trump spending his time in his hotel, playing golf at his golf course, all money paid for by tax payers and all going into his pocket. Imagine the cost of Airforce One, the cost of the security, the cost of his travelling staff, etc. All going to Trump's Hotel. No 'problemo Amigo'. But there is problem with Pelosi's vacation. Uh!. Say Dude! Why don't you tell us who pays for Pelosi's personal vacation. Did she pay for it or the tax payer pays for it?

Tell me why tax payers should pay for Trump's border wall whe he PROMISED and told tax payers that Mexico will pay for the wall? See below video. I am sure you read other of his promises about the wall.

The post is biased. And is just anti Pelosi and anti Democrat.
Thank you @Harbal for your matured and honest comment. The post is just a nonsense and anti Pelosi and anti Democrat.
@rizlared. You said it all. Trump caused the shut down, not congress. It is even stupid for people to blame democrats. Republicans are in majority, until January 3, NOT Democrats. Trump categorically said he will shut down the government if he doesn't get money to build his wall. The same wall he promised everyone that Mexico will pay for.
