Relationships, problems with the family and being single!

All around me (are familiar fac..), no.. All around me, people get into relationships. I have five friends, who each found their new love a few days into January. They all post happy statuses on Facebook, how they really believe that their new love is the big one. That they will stay together forever. Now, I am not usually a Debbie Downer, but relationships rarely last forever these days. 9 out of 10 times, the relationships fail because they won't talk about things properly. One argument, and the relationship is done. I think that is one of the reasons I am still single. I do not have the time or the need to jump head first into a relationship with someone, who gives up on the first sight of trouble. 99.9% of problems can be solved by sitting down and talking like adults, and sadly, most people lack that basic understanding.

Talking about lacking basic understanding, my brother wrote me today, saying that I had to transfer some money to him, from the Christmas meal. I told him, that I would transfer them when I had the money for it, but it wouldn't be now, since I bought my new phone, because my other one had a cracked screen, and was literally falling apart. My brother, the GENIOUS that he is, said that I could easily have waited to buy my phone, and pay him back. I get where he is coming from, but I needed that phone, because most of my daily schedule and activities are listed on my phone, that was falling apart. After I told him that, he went "I get that, but the phone could easily have waited two weeks"..

No.. No it couldn't.. The phone was on offer, and it was a great offer. Anyway, as you can probably tell, my relationship with my brother isn't really the best. He is the sort of guy who LOVES to take control of EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. Even if he is joining a party, that he isn't hosting, he will take control and give out orders. I am the complete opposite to him. I hate being in charge of anything, and I don't pester people to pay a relatively small amount back. We are talking $22, so it's not like it's a fortune. He is earning a LOT more than me, so it's not like he will be needing them soon.

But I will pay him back when I can, which I have told him.

On another note, I was thinking about if I will stay single forever, or if 2019 will bring someone into my life. I have been single for at least 20 years. All through my teens now that I think about it, and I am 34 now. My new job could possibly be where I meet someone, but I am taking every day as it comes.

Speaking of work, today I was a real superstar. It's like I was born to work there. I don't remember telling you where I work. If I have, then I will let you know again: I work at McDonald's as a dishwasher/cleaner/general badass/all round staff. I really love that job! Sadly I am only there on a 13 week trial basis, which is up in March. But if I play my cards just right, I will definitely get a permanent hire. If that happens, then I will be extremely well paid. The salary is $24 per hour, so it will definitely set me up nice. It will be a 37 hour work week, at minimum, which will net me $3552 before taxes. $2212 after taxes, so I pay over $1000 in taxes, which I really don't mind. Not with all the benefits that follows.

But - I will know more in March, and I will be sure to update you by then!
