exploitation

Are you being exploited if somebody makes a profit from you....from your labor....from your possessions.

In the world of Capitalism, is not that what it is all about?

No, it's not. Capitalism, from an economic perspective is quite simply the private ownership of goods and services to make a profit. It's the most efficient distribution of those resources based on price and the means of production.

There is no exploitation, decisions are made by the private sector. You want exploitation...hand it over to the government to make those decisions where they fix prices. One is a free market system, the other is socialism.

cool
Thx Dr. I wonder how that all fits into how such a small percent of the elites own such a large percent of the financial wealth. I am sure there cannot be anyway they are exploiting anyone.dunno
It's because we worked for it....but you seem to be very comfortable in your anononimity as a member of the failing majority. You're right where you belong......

cool
Capitalism is just a modern version of serfdom.

Except the serfs in this case buy into it more by being made to believe they will not be serfs forever, even though most will.
Johnny,
As you will see..it is 8am ish and I haven't had a drop of coffee or food-
if you consider breakfast more than a donut or pop tart or energy drink ;)
But you have found my area of interest.
Not expertise, just interest.
I enjoy it when your readers are inspired by your blogs and provide us with ample food for thought.
I look forward to reading the rest of the arguments and seeing how they will support it.(bullet points are optional)

Another Opinionated Azzhole ;)
Although I prefer to think of myself
as just a Smart Azz.

the world was created by exploitation

and wars
Capitalism, socialism, communism, you name it. Some rake in the good stuff and some whinge that it isn't fair.

Now a decent system would have all the rich guys working their butts off and everyone else slumped in front of the TV not lifting a finger, getting handy amounts of cash delivered regularly with their pizzas and kebabs.

Oh, since this is CS, I should add the above comment was satirical. roll eyes
Hello Johnny, exploitation can mean two ways, either being used and not compensated fairly and or just a natural course of gain and profit through sales business. The former is not good while the latter is just that, business in a free world is a matter of making a profit to sustain the purpose of gaining. Anyways, I know it when I am being used unfairly and I make it a point that I am not using anyone to hurt them.
Thx Doc
Thank you for sharing Conrad..very informative.
Molly...yes, that is the way I see it as well. Very rarely do people rise to wealth to a point were comfortable living exist...especially in today's age.
Ash, a lot of azzholes exist in the world...one for each person...one could assume. ...suppose people could get ripped a new one, making it two per persondunno
I think many people have other things on their minds right now than to worry about such unimportant issues like exploitation....Ash. aka...SmartAzz
Legs...I was getting the feeling of some truth to your statement. :)
SR,

I do believe that business owners should be compensated for the risk they take when running a business....I think that is fair. However, when is too much compensation? However two, shouldn't everyone involved share in the profits equally?....it are the backs of the employees that are actually making the business work...without them, there will be no risk to be taken and to be reward for.

dunno
SND, I am very interested in listening to that video...will do shortly.

Thanks all for sharing.

Johnny,

It works both ways. Often the one doing the exploiting becomes the exploited as he/she becomes the target, the one every one wants to take down or take their place.

An employee can learn much from one job, then eventually venture on his/her own to make their own company, that may eventually overcome the old work place’s overall income, and perhaps buy them out or get them out of business.

Have a cool day.cheers
I agree with not being government ownership...even though one could somewhat argue that is somewhat what we have right now. But, I think it would be great if a company generated $100million in profits and they have lets say 100 employees.....each and everyone of them share equally with the owners in the profits. That seems somewhat fair to me Doc. dunno
Johnny,

You gotta be tough in business. Get all you can.

I don't want to convey life depicted in the Waltons or Little House on the Prairie and tales of barn raisings but Americans did have to pull themselves up by the bootstraps after the Depression. You know what I mean.People inspire people to keep trying.( to give their families better than they had.)

Oops I duplicated my comment, I meant to insert this fact.It was not profits but inheritance that financed building a second store after both parents passed from cancer.

Daears,I understand both your points about our Legacy and the obligation,
regardless of the human condition.
The government can not instill our love or gratitude.
Any acts that can honor and cherish, instead of exploit. We can foster those.
Love begets love, creation.
Selfishness is destruction.
