Hungary

Just heard a few days ago that Hungary is encouraging young Hungarian families to have more kids (due to population decline) and with that comes some benefits for the mother as well. Benefits include a $36,000 loan which is cancelled after a certain period of time etc. I think after the fourth baby is born the remainder debt is cancelled....confused
I truly don't know if this is true but would like to find out if anyone on CS might confirm this dunno

Interesting info that came to my attention

- The first point is to support young couples, with each woman under 40 years old to receive a loan of 10 million forints (around €35,000). After giving birth to three children, the loan would not have to be paid back, and would become a non-refundable support.
- The second point aims to expand the beneficiary state-credit scheme set up by the government to help young couples acquire their first apartment.
- The third point deals with mortgages. The government vows to pay one million forints of the parents' mortgage after the birth of a second child, and 4 million forints after the birth of a third child.
- The fourth point might be the biggest incentive for larger families. Women giving birth to four children will be exempted for life from the payment of personal income taxes.
- The fifth is a large family car purchase program. The government will give 2.5 million forints as a non-refundable grant to new 7-seat cars for families with at least three children.
- The sixth is to help moms get back to the labor market, government set up 21,000 new places in nurseries in the coming three years. Thus, from 2022 onwards, all parents would be able to bring their children to the nursery.
- The last point is a child support subsidy payable for grandparents, encouraging them to help families in raising the children.

Excellent in my opinion.thumbs up
SA could learn from Hungary.
Luke, I think that shows just how much direct & indirect tax we all pay these days, that they can afford to do that & presumably make a profit from it wow
Z, when I was a youngster, most folk spoke about 'millions'.... and that was huge. Now 'Billions' seem to be making way for 'Trillions' .... Where does all this money come from??confused

Red,
I just feel that if ANY government cares about its people then yes its a big plus in my eyes, and thats exactly what the Hungarians are doing. JMO.wine
Agree but you know there's caring and caring. But yes governments in touch with people and caring is rare from my own government that is.teddybear
