a kind of magic

Big brand new rented car parked in narrow road. Add Spanish drivers, who are not always wonderful. Mix and stir, and you get a scrape across 2 door panels and the tucked-in wing mirror.

Enter the magic - buffed out completely with toothpaste

In my chequered past I was once a letting agent so have known for years that white toothpaste is the handiest and most effective way of filling nail-holes left in walls (sets harder than concrete) but now I have another reason to carry toothpaste in my DIY arsenal

I can see you with a tool-belt filled with different toothpastes to cover any emergency laugh
Toothpaste takes chewing gum out of peanut butter?? I'm so confused laugh
If a child gets chewing gum stuck in their hair, just put them into a freezer for 10 hours.
The chewing gum will break off easily then.

That's my tip of the day thumbs up
I'll know what to use now if I scratch a tooth thumbs up grin
Molly I think that's for lobsters but who am I to argue handshake laugh
My ex-husband used to apply toothpaste on any boils or carbuncles on his body.

He swears by them toothpaste drinking
Molly your tip should solve quite a few child-related problems wow
That is good to know. Someone also told me that toothpaste will safely remove scratches from CDs and DVDs. I haven't tried, because I don't scratch mine. What about eyeglasses? They're too expensive for me to experiment, so I would appreciate advice from somebody who has.
Boils and carbuncles with toothpaste on top Mimi ... you did say Ex right laugh
Z, there's every reason to suspect that could work, too.

I have now found a website with 33 uses for toothpaste. The 33rd is for teeth. So you were RIGHT yay

Mimi that wasn't on the list of 33 - can you vouch for it? was he deboiled and decarbuncled (and minty fresh?) writing
My tip above would work on boils and carbuncles as well thumbs up
Korn, yup cleaning CDS etc is on the list. They do warn not to use too abrasive a toothpaste or to rub too hard. Do you have an older pair you can try a gentle clean on?

The car one was AMAZING. My own car has picked up a fair number of surface scratches since I came here, I shall be beetling out soon to try some gentle attempts. I only have toothpaste so may need to buy gel.
Molly, how big is your freezer?

Asking for a friend.
Amazon here I come for box of toothpaste grin doh oops I have no car, boils , carbuncles but grin yes holes in my walls rolling on the floor laughing teddybear
Toothpaste will dull the lenses of eyeglasses. I speak from experience.
However... it does a fantastic job of polishing aluminum parts. That's mill finish aluminum and not anodized.
Serene applause
rolling on the floor laughing

Biffffffffff yay

It worked, at least for him grin

Molly reunion

Hmmmm....hmmm Why does ‘morgue’ come into my mind uh oh
I saw a nun performing the magic of chocolate dissolving chewing gum in a childs hair. The kid would have rather ate the chocolate and cut the hair tho.laugh
...can`t even imagine what youre capable of, when adding a brush...wow grin
Hi Elegs, You are a mine of useful information - if I had the misfortune to be a car driver I'd test the toothpaste theory but instead will save some for the teeth! laugh
For picture holes I have used a filler or flour and water mix, left to harden and painted over grin

From now on in its toothpaste peace
"Toothpaste will dull the lenses of eyeglasses. I speak from experience"

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the warning, Chat.
