At the start of the meeting, all are invited to make a brief statement. This one guy says that we are all living on Wabanaki land. Now he's a farmer, who works this land. I'm told he is also a trust fund recipient, who thus was able to buy the farm, now in his ownership. Lean, tall, north European looking, pony tailed, with the usual snowflake-millennial liberal sneering tone. The noble savage had no concept of land ownership, but would likely protest if you took his piece pipe, blade or moccasins. He easily would have slit the throat of such a thief. Lack of a sense of ownership, and peaceful coexistence. Sure. Next time, I might ask if he's given any reparations for his culturally stipulated later day expropriation.
