In Venezuela we are witnessing what happens when you disarm a nation's citizens.

Take a long, hard look at what's happening in the streets of Venezuela. Only the socialist dictator and his goons have guns. This is why we must protect our right to bear arms at any cost.

Even liberal MSNBC Accidentally Makes Strong Case For Second Amendment While Discussing Venezuela

MSNBC reporter Kerry Sanders accidentally made a strong case for the Second Amendment on Tuesday during a segment on the far-left network about the chaos in Venezuela.

Sanders noted that Maduro still maintained control of the military through the whole ordeal, adding: "You have to understand, in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that's open to everybody. So if the military have the guns, they have the power and as long as Nicolás Maduro controls the military, he controls the country."

Sanders comments came after an armored Venezuelan military vehicle plowed into a crowd of protesters earlier in the day in a video clip that went viral and was seen around the world.

Back in the day my school (NYMA wolverine class) taught us another phrase for armored vehicle and showed us how.

I don't see how an armed citizenry could have prevented the disaster in Venezuela. The main cause was dumb-a** communist economic policy.

When Hugo Chavez overthrew the previous dictator, first thing he did was take over the national oil producer PDVSA, fire the professionals and install his army buddies. Production nose-dived and still has not recovered.

Next, the "socialists" began confiscating farms and factories. The inevitable results began to show glaringly toward the end of 2006 -- no food in the markets! And it has been all downhill ever since, guns or no guns.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
