Halo
When sailing past St Vincent on the 3rd of May we saw a halo around the sun. It was really beautiful.
Im not sure why its caused or what it means but now that I have internet again for a few days will try reasearch.

The almanac suggests Mercury may have been so positioned May 3
I often prefer to enjoy the beauty of something than know the scientific reason behind it.
Thin layer of clouds

The clouds block the brightness alot
Put on some sunglasses an look up

On the left I can see a hawk flying
The cloud almost touching the little middle cloud is it's beak.
Below darker angled cloud is it's bend wings
On the right is like a dragon's head or a crocodile head
What do you see
You have to look at it differently.
Turn the pic sideways counter-clockwise & he's easier to see.
Quite obvious, actually.
But solar halos are quite common.
That thing below the sun raises the pic to the 'One Of A Kind' level.
Mercury would've been the planet to appear nearest the sun on May 3, so that's a possibility.
You might want to pass the pic along to an astronomy group.

Whatever it is you caught there - that is one helluva pic!!

Mercury was about 17° away from the sun on May 3.
The thing in Ish's pic appears to be within 1°.
That would seem to rule out Mercury as a possibility.
Absolutely pass that pic along to the UFO Investigation group mentioned in my previous comment!

I'm uncomfortable with that term because it immediately makes two unwarranted assumptions.
1) What is observed is an 'object'.
2) That it's 'flying'.
I prefer Anomalous Aerial Phenomena (AAP).
I don't expect it'll get changed, though.
UFO has been around for a long while & sounds cooler than AAP.

Strangely enough...a couple of days ago I was watching..again..the film "Knowing" where sun meteors had hit the earth..and it was the end of our planet. Hmmm.. Worth considering?
