Wait a minute ! The name of the new baby from Prince Henry & Megan Markle is....Archie ?!?!?

That's not a joke. laugh

There may be former English kings, queens, princes & princesses rolling over in their graves right now. laugh

They couldn't think of a better name than Archie ?

Will he eventually marry an Edith ? and nickname his son-in-law 'Meathead' ?

Will his favorite sayings include......"dummy up" ?

Was Bozo taken ? laugh

Wait a minute ..! the kid was called that because ... " if it didn't get its feed on time it just cried .... " Archibald " ...... Archie bawled ...rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing banana banana banana banana applause applause applause laugh laugh laugh
It's a name with a Germanic and Mediaeval history meaning 'genuine', or 'precious' and 'bold', assuming it comes from Archibald.

Archie is the name of the father/uncle in the book The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgeson Burnett, a British born American novelist and playwright.

I think it's a well thought out name, encapsulating the child's national and cultural origins.

Like popes, some kings and queens don't use their baptismal name as their regnal one, for example, Queen Victoria was baptised Alexandrina Victoria.

In the unlikely event of Archie ever becoming king, he could always adopt a regnal name, or maybe initiate an Archian era. laugh
Archie was definitely a bold move to name a royal baby.
At least it wasn't Gilligan. laugh
