Do you know you?
I mean, how could you really? The typical American has an 8 hour a day job and sleeps 8 hours a day. That is 16 hours, leaving 8 hours a day for you to be you.
Okay, to bath and eat in a day most likely takes an hour.
So now down to 7 hours in a day for you to be you.
Typically, there are home chores work to take care of, organizing, repairing, cleaning, taking the garbage out...even with a spouse at home...there is usually something or the other person to take care of. Let us guess another hour for the odds and ends things.
Now we are down to 6 hours in a day.
I am not sure how long the average American spends watching television...is it 2 hours a day or 4? Okay, I am going to consider it 3 hours...watching mindless crap and not allowing us to explore who we really are.
Now at this time we are down to 3 hours a day.
Do you chat with friends and family a bit during your day? Do you go to the bar and have a couple of beers? Do you have to run to the store for some groceries? What other loose ends need to be done? People are usually busy doing something it seems. Okay, let us consider this part of the day an hour.
Now, there are just 2 hours left in the day for you to be you.
How many people even contemplate a bit of who they are...and then put it into practice?
Many people allow their jobs to define who they are. But, are they really that person? Didn't a company just define who you are and not yourself?
What about children...do you have any...does that not take up any part of your time?
Who are you?
Sheep?
Nobody?
Do you know?

That is why we need to retire, then you learn to know your self better.....and when you are wandering into your past, you can better see, that you played more made personalities, than what is your real.
But the biggest step to know the very real self is, if you are able to touch your Soul, as most of your life, you just build up am matrix self......but that is then a little wider subject.
I had a chance to retire when I was about 45 and adding to that, that I have not had a TV for about 15 years, so there was no other choice available, than to start to dig into your self......but to be honest, still I find some surprises about who I am
True about transportation...that can rob a lot of that valuable 2 hours one has.
Having been in a relationship last year, I found out tons about myself. I can imagine retirement would be great too.
I think one huge recommendation is to stay out of debt as much as one can...especially with crazy interest rate credit cards.
They say...if you are in debt....your time becomes much less.
It is called life living like a sheep.
Cap, better to meet yourself halfway than to never had met at all. ..or is that love?
CH...that is not funny....my last year relationship.
Now I need to do my sheep duties and get some work done.
He slurred his answer, “Wha.. whadda ya tawking about? I’m none those things, I’m Drunk!”
After some additional thought...that is what most of us are...
we introduce somebody new...we change like the wind too...good point..
we seem to be changing as the immediate environment around us changes.
Perhaps...people need to develop a more happy and satisfying self.
What are you talking about wiping and burning candles?
Admit to nothing!
with some of the dates I’ve had, I’m probably better off drunk all the time.
The secret to successful self-employment....be disciplined.
But don't be disciplined to a fault
Absolutely sound advice about the image in the mirror. However, making time for oneself when they have sold themselves out to extensive debt is easier said than done.
you are right and wrong about looking in the mirror......yes, your body tell you only little about your age, but not more........still there is something interesting and that is your eyes, they tell exactly the the situation of your self.....they tell you if you are happy or not....when you are angry and when in peace.....and also if you are sick or not.....I start to check peoples eyes already from when I was teenager and I can check easily in the mirror my self, from my eyes, what is my situation, when ever I want.
Take care
As for seeing people, people are people. I know that non existence of a permanent self applies to everyone. I accept people for what they are. No one is sad or happy 24/7.
Enjoy what ever is remaining of the day.
Said Berkard.
How can one find a self, when there is no self.
Anyway Johnny, I don't think you will understand what I was trying to say. You asked..Who are you ?
Me, I don't exist. I know it is impossible to point out, " okay, this is real me". Nothing is permanent physically or mentally. Everything is constantly changing along with us. I don't want to be serious about this. So enough for now.
Anyway, I think there are lots of unhappy people in this world because people are obsessively feeding this I, without knowing who the I is.
Did I say anything to confuse you this time around.
It seems as if everyone is running a rat race today with little to no time for anything. Maybe the addition to the internet might have played a role in that.
Yes..only 8 hours.
...little less confused.
