I don’t believe

I don’t believe in ghosts or spirits of the dead. I don’t believe in the potency of curses made by witches and ancient Egyptians, and I don’t believe in black magic. I don’t believe in the devil or vampires or werewolves. None of these things frighten me in the slightest. No, the only thing that stops me from walking through dark graveyards at midnight is my imagination.

We all like to believe we are right in our beliefs. I believe I am a wonderful wife and there is a rich man searching for me, anxious to share his heart, his life and his money. I believe it is as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor one.

Sometimes our beliefs can be shaken, we can even be wrong. I have just logged in to read my mail and my belief I will find my perfect match on CS is a little shakier than it was.

I named the spirit in my house Joe. He died in this house and seems to want to hang around. Luckily he is not benevolent. I know he was an alcoholic when he was alive so as Jerry suggested to me, I sometimes leave a shot glass with whiskey out for him.

I think the dogs sense him more than me, I just hear weird things but they seem to watch movements that I don't see.

I'm not the least bit frightened.
