Feedback from Greece!

So earlier today, my phone rang, and it was from Greece. I picked up, but the voice on the other end told me, that I was unsuccessful in getting the role in Athens. Apparently, they found one better than me. So now I am back to square one, at least when it comes to job hunting. I have applied for hundreds of jobs, and 90% of them never return my email, or call me to inform that the job has been given to someone else.

Now, I could go on a mad rampage, about how the job market sucks, and that nobody wants to hire me, but i am not going to. Instead, I am going to take it slow, relax and then learn a new skill online. I will then use said skill to take over the world.. No, I will use it to bag my dream job!

I really want to work in the US, but I don't have a visa that allows me to go there. So I am stuck here in Europe - for now! At one point, I WILL get a visa and fulfill my dreams.

Unless someone, who reads my blog, knows someone who knows someone who can hook me up with a job WITH visa paid. My skills are matched with pretty much any employer I look at - I just don't have that dang visa.

One day!

Which skills are you referring to ?
What job experience do you have ?
Jim: In the US, I am mainly looking for data entry roles, since I have two years experience with that. I also spent some time in a grocery store, so customer service is also a skillset of mine.

All the data entry roles I have looked at, requires just 6 months experience, so it's not like I am struggling there. My last proper employment was in a cinema, so again, the customer service is something I have nailed.

Whenever I apply for a job, I make sure to apply for one, which matches my skillset. But nothing has happened yet :). I will keep looking, though
To get that US Visa you probably would need experience in skilled labor,
rather than data entry or customer service.

Why do you believe you are having trouble getting such a position in your country ?

Have you tried employment agencies ?

Has anyone given you feedback regarding your resume ?
