But still a good point
Or, back in the day, when he got drafted.
I've heard stories of people questioning why returning Vietnam vets were 'entitled'' to attend college under the GI Bill.
Some(!) WWII vets felt Vietnam vets didn't deserve benefits because they didn't 'win'.
Founding principle of Vietnam Veterans of America - 'Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another'.
I know college used to be free, was it free there or just ridiculously easy to get a grant? The young are paying for a whole range of things you got for free after having worked much harder for their money in the first place. It's going to add up to something anti-capitalist.
There is, unfortunately a lot of truth to that statement. There are to many people who are old enough to know better that don't seem to possess the ability to discern obvious truths or facts.
In the younger generation you could blame it on the failure of our education system for not teaching them the truth and not preparing them for the reality's of life. But twenty plus years ago our education system was different, so the older generations lack of understanding might be biological, something to do with how they process information. Perhaps there emotion's are clouding there judgement.
I saw first hand how my ex wife's emotion's completely distorted her reality. And there have been a few times where I let my anger go against my better judgement. But I always came back to reality and corrected any mistakes I may have made.
So I see emotions as least one possible cause.
