FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT WAS VOTED IN FOR A RECORD SETTING 12 YEARS BUT DIEED DURING SERVING OUT HIS LAST ONE if THE REP[UBLICANS TAKE THE HOUSE BACK IN 2020 THEY HAVE A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ,WITH THE HELP OF CONGRESS REMOVE THE CONSTITUTIONAL LIMIT ON PRESIDENTIAL TERMS AND,WOULD AT LEAST GIVE DONALD J TRUMP,THE OPPORTUNITY TO RUN FOR ANOTHER TWO TERMS! IF HE ISN'T ALL TUCKERED OUT AFTER FINISHING THESE CURRENT TWO,STILL FEELS A RESPONSIBILITY, SERVE,(GIVE BACK) AND THE PEOPLE WANT HIM,THE ONLY IMPEDIMENT TO ALL F THIS IS IF HE WOULD RATHER GO CATFISHING WITH HIS FOX OF A WIFE!
THEN AGAIN,I DON'T KNOW IF THOSE PILLS HE IS TAKING ARE DOING HIM ANY GOOD..?…..WE BETTER SHUTTER DOWN! HA HA

FDR served 12 years, was elected to serve a total of 16 years ('44) but died in '45.
Anyway.
Interesting proposition. But aside from super majorities in Congress, proposed Constitutional Amendments also must be ratified by 3/4 of the State Legislatures.
Not impossible - but I don't see it happening.
Also -
Language in such an amendment could make it inapplicable to the sitting Prez at the time of it's ratification/adoption.
The amendment limiting a Prez to two terms did not apply to the sitting Prez (Truman)
HST could've been elected & served as Prez 'til the day he died - sometime in the '70s, as I recall.

Repub Prezes who likely would've been elected more than twice - Eisenhower & Reagan.
Reagan is the only post-FDR Prez to get the closest thing to a 3rd Term - the White House retained by his party after 8 years.
And in Reagan's case it was retained by his own Veep - Bush I.
