Disgusting!
Today I went to the Labor and Employment Office. Had my unemployment insurance card stamped and brushed on some job vacancies. As my kanji is limited, I just size up the vacancies accdg to place, the going rate, duration and nature of work. I chose one and shown it to the counter lady and she told me that the position is for the physically challenged only. I looked long and hard at the going rate which is ¥200,000. Why for all intent and care, a healthy individual's rate is ¥20,000 to ¥30,000 lesser? Disgusting isn't it? I wasn't allowed to be introduced to that position. Surely there must be someone who needs it more than I. Besides, I do enjoy being jobless at the moment!!

but in Ireland at your age ( not that I think you're too old to work) people wouldn't get as far as an interview let alone an option to refuse a job.
