What do you do when your doctor tells you you have 2 maybe 3 days to live.

I've been a member of CS for over 7 years now. Been blogging on & off most of that time, have made some good friends on here, but seems even some of them don't believe a word I say moping That's a bit cutting as I've never knowingly told a lie either here or in the real world, but I made a comment on Usha's blog & even some of the regulars don't believe what I said was true wow Makes mental note to review my friends judgement writing

So back to the original OP what do you do, well that fits into three categories, the first being exactly what you're told to do, then secondly you don't rent any long movies professor Thirdly you don't choose this week to give up smoking, I mean what's it going to do, kill you laugh I've always had a passion for fast cars so sort of envisioned the end would be say a 400 year old oak tree with my head buried in it, not something the size of an atom mumbling Problem with things that small they breed faster than rabbits & before you know it there's billions of the little buggers eating you alive help I'm a little short on detail as one of the side effect of an infection in your head is total deafness, I did manage to catch the doctor saying I was lucky, hmmm well to me lucky would have been not getting it in the first place, but by Saturday, I'd been taking painkillers for weeks which I realised weren't doing my any favours so cut right back, and it was then I realised how serious it was & decided to go to a private clinic, she told me I probably wouldn't have made it till Monday wow

My thanks to my neighbour & Biff who've been driving me to the clinic, I can't drive myself as the council have been out putting bends in all the roads that weren't there last week, plus I'm now banned by the doctor due to one of the pile of tablets I have take day & night is a narcotic yawn

So you can choose to believe this blog or not, but i will tell you the lab that did bloods works on my sample today did question whether they came from someone still alive rolling on the floor laughing

laugh laugh Trend setter Like that. grin nope just pleased when doc said 2to3 days, she just meant a phone call with blood results, you came to mind straight away and I breathed a sigh of relief.

No beer this weekend though mumbling another nail in the coffin rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Take care wishing you well. teddybear
Kal, thanks, but I'm not sure how making your doctor say something different who help you confused be a bit like telling the sun it can't go down in the evening laugh
Nam, I've finished the course of Zombie tablets cheering so hopefully no more 4am updates, I'll be sleep with any luck.
Red, I think as Molly said earlier you'll need to look carefully at your results, given half a chance doctors would have you living on nothing but lettuce and carrots doh some of what we're told these days is politically rather than medically driven imo mumbling
zman I know I rarely go to docs unless I truly have too. No results yet just thought I would try something myself. I do research on internet and most sites have different take on symptoms I know my immune system goes on overdrive at times so try to find ways to curb its appetites grin I think as we get older our bodies just work different and its listening and finding our own balance. I would rather try something myself than be on meds.peace
2 or 3 days to live, what would I do?

Probably take 2 or 3 days to realise I only had 2 or 3 days to live!

DOH!
Kal, what my doctor actually said was I was lucky I decided to go in to the clinic over the weekend as I probably wouldn't have lasted till the Monday, by the Monday I would have needed intensive care in hospital and would have been unlikely to have survived till Tuesday without it, I could have asked her to correct her statement but what difference would that have made, I'd have just died, you seem a practical person to me so I don't really understand where you're coming from.
Sola, I had a slight advantage there, by that stage I'd lost both ear drums and was totally deaf, I didn't find out what she said till later when my neighbour who took me in told me, all I knew was I had to have a preliminary blood test and from the result of that, it was off the scale apparently, I had to have an IV drip, so I wasn't given a chance of having a heart attack on hearing the news laugh
@Z, may you get over what's ailing you. Got a temporary hearing loss too, last October. Maybe because of the loud noise of big churning machines in the factory where I worked. I've just finished my Aural supplement and I think it's good. We've been survivors and I hope we live well to 80's. Godspeed.bouquet
Z I do remember you saying on a Blog a few years ago that you never take one tablet. I tought to myself Wow, that's healthy, as most people past a certain age [not saying we're old ] have to take a Blood pressure or Cholesterol tablet, something ! Drinking Tea is actually good for you now. Your body can be a good indicator of what you need. Full of antioxidants, enjoy your tea if it makes you feel better. I tried green tea and hated it, so back to the black stuff with no sugar. Take care you have plenty of D3 to fight off any virus s or bacteria. wave
tatami, yes loud noise over a period of time plays havoc with your hearing sigh but yes being 80 odd and a bit deaf would be ok laugh hug
GG, I went many years with no tablets, then decided it was silly to suffer a headache when I could get rid of it, so used to take a half a junior disprin laugh that was enough to do the job, I always figured it would be better to leave the stronger pills till I really needed them.
Huh?
z, how's the recovery? Did your hearing return?
Chat, I've finished the pills but it's going to be a while before I'm back to normal, the hearing is quite odd, sometimes much improved but others not, I feel it will return in time and at least I know my ears still work from the minutes or hours when they are working.
You know what they say when your eardrums hurt on a flight SWOLLOW rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Sorry zman had to get that one out grin

Have they said what happened, a virus, or bite or something , bacterial infection ??

As long as your on the mend teddybear
Red, that's all well and good if you have ear drums, those were the first things to go doh

It was a bacterial infection that normally affects your skin, I didn't have that it must have got into an ear somehow, once there it started to spread and then got into my blood, meaning it could travel where it liked, must have been after the air miles rolling on the floor laughing
air miles laugh laugh see I told you, you had passed something to me, mine is in kidneys I think, but wait for docs call. The meds are working though. Skin lesions too but have not broke down, its a bummer when one usually feels on top of the world. I just feel fortunate not life threatening. I was given a number to ring if I took a dive, but no all seems to be going in right directions. I have to admit feeling sorry for myself until I heard about your 3 dayswow Glad Biff is around for you though applause applause
I am not hugging another tree, that's whats done it. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Red, yes Biff took me the second time I had to go to the clinic, it's a lovely place but slow wow I think we were there about 7 hours, it's like the land time forgot, they all move in slow motion, but as I said earlier we did have a good lunch whilst the lab did the blood tests, but what a difference from the NHS production line where they bang you in and out fast as possible.
uh oh dangerous things trees then doh laugh
Hows it going zman???

Me, no blood results yet, but feel a bit better, not good enough for gym work out though. Went for long walk and resisted all trees. They were begging for hug but crazy I said your crazy laugh laugh
Coming out in bruises, could be meds but have number to ring.
Gluten free wafer biscuits, not bad but not much appetite blues
quiet peaceful no hurry day, grass needs cutting but told it to wait, doh it does not listen laugh laugh
Books catching up on books and good music, doh what a change peace
Red, I'm on the mend banana how about you confused I assume you have your results by now beer
Itchy confused how can you blame the doctor, she'd never met me till I walked in there, she diagnosed the problem and put me on the right treatment dunno
So glad you are on the mend zman, yep me too but must take steroids another month, reducing 5mg dose every 5 daysdoh Not been to gym but have walked each day, apparently my immune system is attacking me very mad very mad its not even as if I can give the attacker a Geordie left hook boxing laugh laugh

No beer either for a month crying laugh laugh teddybear
Your all over the shop in your opening blog Zman, so I read wrong ....
re read it and a few times since, think now I understand better what your saying wine
Itchy, perhaps bear in mind the op was written under the influence of the Zombie pills dunno made sense to me at the time laugh
Not...laugh cheers
stop teasing me Luken blues laugh laugh
I am glad to hear they finally found a reason for your headaches... although giving you a life sentence is a bit harsh. wink I hope you feel much better soon. bouquet
Abagail, just as well I was deaf so didn't really hear about it till afterwards, ignorance is bliss laugh
Zman, hope you are feeling much better now.bouquet hug
Usha, thanks hug yes getting there, don't need any more pills though not yet up to full speed .
