The year was 1972Van Allen was a biker ,rough ,tough and wild ,he loved bar fights,whiskey on the rocks , loose Women and poetry .
One night he got in to a fight with the local Sheriff and had to flee ,he got on his Harley and headed to Tijuana but he couldn`t speak Spanish to save his life .After a few days hiding in some cheap motel, he wrote the lyrics `` I shot the Sheriff ,but I didnt shoot the deputy `` , a year later, Bob Marley recorded that song ,but he never told the story where he got the lyrics
Van Allen was bored to death in his room so one night he wanted to go out and have some fun ...as he couldnt speak Spanish, he asked the guy at the front desk `` Hey Man how do I get to a bikers bar here ``
Hombre here s what you gonna do ,drive straight down the street for a mile , at the crossroad ,stop and ask `` Donde estas bar de Maricon`` and the locals will help you find it

The bar was full of big , hairy Mexicans dancing and drinking ...
Welcome Signore ,would you like to have a drink with us ...he couldnt refuse...
The next morning, he woke up in an alley ,pain in his butt,200 pesos in his pocked and no belt ...
