I make my own Yogurt, in fact I made my own Yogurt maker also. It uses no electricity. I make a gallon at a time, usually from whole milk although I used skim milk one time, the result wasn't quite as good. I even made a batch from raw, unpasteurized milk I got from a local dairy farm, I couldn't tell the difference from using whole milk from the store.
I make my own yogurt too and it comes out like Greek yogurt which I have been eating for years. Favorite brand is FAJE.
What is the difference between reg yogurt and "Greek" style?
Regular is softer. Yogurt that sits longer becomes firmer which is more like Greek Style. Like the blog title says "Thick"
First time I tried Balkan yogurt in Bulgaria, I was an instant convert. Balkan yogurt is the best.heart1
I have heard that the yellowish water in the yoghurt can Pierce lime stone. I prefer filtered yoghurt.
