Sweeney was a 38-years-old aeronautics consultant and former Navy fighter pilot. He left this message on his wife Julie Sweeney’s phone at 8:59 a.m. on September 11, 2001:
"Hey Jules, this is Brian listen, I’m on an airplane that’s been hijacked. If things don’t go well, and it’s not looking good, I just want you to know I absolutely love you, I want you to do good, go have good times, same to my parents and everybody, and I just totally love you, and I’ll see you when you get there. Bye, babe. I hope I call you."
Oh wait, I know, he wants to enrich himself by building a hotel in Riyadh.
he cozies up to North Korea's dictator. He even had a movie shown to Kim
with NK's beaches built up with hotels. He knows all 3 regimes are as crooked as he is, or close.
IMO the WTC was a very big mistake to put it in that location. That part of Manhattan didn't have the infrastructure (transportation, dining, parking, labor, housing, etc) to support 2 such huge office buildings.
Nothing New Under The Sun ...
History teaches us that we learn Nothing from history.
But the discovery of Mideast oil in 1908 has certainly lubricated the wheels of war.
Remembering counts for Nothing if nothing is Learned.

She said her reflection didn't come until nearly a decade later when commemoration ceremonies honored the first responders, and her story came out. "That's really when I began to think about what I witnessed that day and the meaning of the sacrifice of those first responders and the heroism that they all displayed," she said.
In New York City, 412 emergency workers who responded to the World Trade Center were killed in the attacks. Scores more who survived suffered from a litany of medical conditions, including cancer and respiratory diseases linked to the attacks.
Penney hopes that now, 20 years after the 9/11 attacks, the nation can come together in the same way it did then.
"We have to make a commitment to stability. We have to make a commitment to engaging in that kind of dialogue and remembering that there are things that connect us… What it means to be an American is so much more than the differences that we between us," she said. "We need to recommit to understanding before judging... that those connections are more important than our differences, and to overcome or move past our fear and into the ability to serve. Move beyond ourselves."
I took this photo. I won't be forgetting.
On a side note - one of my sales reps in NY has a brother that is a fireman. Luckily, he happened to be off that day. Another sales rep of mine from Long Island waited an excruciating 8 hours to hear from his daughter that worked in one of the towers. Cell service was messed up and she ended up walking many miles to get to his house because she knew he would be worried. It was such a horrible day for so many people.
I had a softball game that night in NJ. It was a playoff game.
We played in South Amboy, which is somewhat close to NY across the bay.
One of my teammates, a pitcher, worked in one of the towers that went down.
He showed up to the game a little late and we all hugged him, relieved that he made it alive.
He left work early to ensure he made the game. It probably saved his life.
I also started a long term relationship that night. I had gone out with the gal once
and she called me that night. She was afraid and didn't want to be left alone.
I spent that night with her and quite a few more in a row. We eventually lived together
for 6 years.
Do you have a name we can search or possibly a different link?
