Going hard at work!

I have ambitions. Big ambitions, which include being the hardest working guy at my job. Today, I got a chance to prove myself.

We had several productions that had to go out, which required me to put my best foot forward, and set the pace. My pace was fast - very fast. One thing I love about my job: I get to use my muscles for brute strength, which in turn gets me fit and healthy.

Do I feel the burn? Absolutely! Sometimes, my entire body aches from working so hard the day before. I make friends fast, form working relationships that will last for a long time, and I get to show people, that I really want that job.

However, things aren't as peachy now as they were before. There is this new guy who started yesterday, whom I really despise. I don't know his name, nor do I want to know it. Imagine some guy who thinks he's better than you, who talks to everyone like they are stupid, and full on rages at the simplest questions. That's the kind of guy, who has started there.

Yesterday, we had to ship 1100 boxes of items to clients. That meant having everyone on deck, including the new guy. At one point, he looks at me and orders me to fold boxes. Now, the way things are done there, is that the first person in line, the one who handles the first items, folds the boxes and puts his items in it. I pointed that out to him, saying that's how we did things, which made him explode. "Listen here, pal, I am an employee here, and you have to do whatever I tell you to do. Boxes, now!"

I was standing there, thinking "Excuse me, what? How are you talking to me?". I calmly told him, that my line manager has said, that the first in line folds the boxes, to which he said "Let's sort this out."

He went up to the manager, and said "Can you please tell that guy to get with the program, and instruct him how things are done?"

"That guy".. I have a name, you asshat.

She calmly explained to him the way we did it, and he just went "Well, it'll go a lot faster if he was folding boxes.", which he was right about. I said "okay, I'll fold boxes then. If it goes any faster, I will let you know."

He was not prepared for my speed. I did 525 boxes, which is one pallet, in less than an hour. That means I did just over 8 boxes per minute. It overwhelmed him, to a point where he went "Alright, stop folding boxes now." Man, I was smug. I made him overwhelmed.

He was there again today. We were packing yet another production, when he came up to us and went "Packing error. Which one of you guys are responsible for this? I need one more item". I calmly asked him "Which one do you need?", to which he went "Come on, I don't know that. That's your job to figure that out". I then pointed out to him, that he could figure out which one he needed by looking at the labels. That shut him up, and I found the item he needed. The rest of the day went with assembling displays, count discarded make up products, and putting stickers on items.

Now it's the weekend. I have been paid today, so I plan to go to IKEA tomorrow, to get some furniture. I need a dresser, a tv stand, a piece of furniture to put my other items on, and a lamp. Hopefully I will not spend too much.

Now it's time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved weekend!
