STUDY: Polar Bear numbers reach new highs – Population increases to the highest levels in decades
Far from the 2007 predictions of a 67% decline in global polar bear numbers, the new report reveals that numbers have risen to the highest levels in decades.
The US Geological Survey estimated the global population of polar bears at 24,500 in 2005. In 2015, the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group estimated the population at 26,000 (range 22,000–31,000)7 but additional surveys published 2015–2017 brought the total to near 28,500. However, data published in 2018 brought that number to almost 29,5009 with a relatively wide margin of error. This is the highest global estimate since the bears were protected by international treaty in 1973.
NOT wantonly killing them is considered a major contributing factor to their growing numbers.
In some locales (notably in Eastern Canada) their numbers have grown to the point they may become pests or even a threat to communities of humans
In the forums when I want to respond to someone's post there is a way for their post to be a part of my response. There isn't a Reply button in the blogs.
How do I quote something someone said in my response?
In front of that pasted text put [ quote] (except put the brackets adjacent to the text
After the end of the text put [ /quote ] except put the brackets adjacent to the text.
Thus [ quote ] Mary had a little lamb [ /quote ] after removing the spaces between the brackets
and the text becomes
and [/quote ] is the command for turning off the quote function (after you remove the empty spaces between the e at the end of quote and the ]
You need both the on quote command AND the off quote command to get the command active.
I saw some film about it a long time ago. Its not to cool when one of those things decides to come in your front door without knocking. They do that,
However, if inside and the door closes, they panic and don't know how to open the door to escape,
and end up totally destroying the vehicle from the inside out, until stumbling upon making an exit, often through a broken window. But, by then the vehicle is unrecognizably destroyed.
