Species

Forget RACES, Forget SubSpecies. These are destracters.

Biologically speaking Species is defined as organisms which through the exchange of genetic information produce Viable Offspring. For mammals (and that includes Homo sapiens) the exchange of genetic information is achieved through s*xual Intercourse.

Yes, interbreeding is possible across species lines, as in the case of a Horse and Donkey producing a Mule. But the Mule is sterile, ergo can not be considered a Viable Offspring.

For those who think Phenotypic Expressions like skin color, hair texture and eye shape define a species are flat out wrong. Humans are humans, the world around. Blue Eyed Blondes are NOT genetically superior. Nor are the sons of millionaires and billionaires.

Lastly this not a discussion about the use of cryspr to edit genes and the ramifications thereoft.

IF you think otherwise - get over yourself.

"Blue Eyed Blondes are NOT genetically superior. Nor are the sons of millionaires and billionaires."

I wonder if you have been a member of the North American society because the opposite of that statement is TRUE (at least most have been brain wash to believe it to be so).
I have a fundamental problem with arguing for no borders, or distinction.

If there are no countries, races, ethnic origins, or any other differences then we don't get to experience and enjoy difference.

It seems an odd argument, in order to avoid fear of difference that we pretend it doesn't exist, or try to eradicate it.

Although I agree the mortuary slab is a great leveller, it's also a rather boring one.

I'd rather talk about difference, than sameness. It's more complex and interesting.
Basics yes humans are humans but if we did not have differences we might as well be robots grin

I like the diversity of the worlds humans laugh
Species is NOT about being identical - Look around you - even within a family group one can see a great of variation - the greater the variation, the healthy the species. Environment in combination with Evolution has brought on this variation. Variety is good. It is healthy.

Much the same can be said for cultural differences - USA's history of welcoming immigrants to its doors has made this country far stronger and far more interesting place to live.
If the US didn't have immigrants, there would be only Native Americans living there.
LOL - The Native Americans themselves are immigrants of sorts - their ancestors came across an ice bridge from Asia during the last ice age.
Well, we all came from Africa originally I guess

It was just what direction we took in that fork on the road after that.
Well said, Molly. LOL

Give it up, Stringman - The Courts ruled against teaching Creationism in the classroom. Its a dead issue.

One more thing - just because science calls something a Theory does not mean it is NOT well proven. Gravity, for instance, is a Theory because it, like Evolution, is open to further exploration.

The Bible's contents, contrary wise, are considered beyond dispute. It's proof lying the undying faith individuals like yourself. No matter how faith you have, gravy will pull you down and evolutionary pressures will continue shaping the future.
Some get fooled easily too...

Sorry my connection is still giving problems...moping
there is a higher court that says differently. I'll stay with that one.beer
Stingman - You are free to practice your religion as you choose. HOWEVER forcing your religious views on others is not a right guaranteed by the US constitution.

Anytime you wish you are free to stop using science based technologies like the internet and the phone.
ChesneyChrist - I wasn't discussing Eugenics here, but yes culling out genes via selective breeding rarely improves the species. One sees this in animal breeding all the time. AS it turns out a negative gene can have a positive effect. Sickle Cell Anemia can kill, but it also can provide resistance to Malaria, which is a good thing.
