Aging Gracefully
Inspiration for Taking charge of my life and age gracefully was given to me by a female blogger. She wrote :“Instead of trying to find ways to cope with feeling old and alone, you have to figure out how to be happy where you are with what you have and create something new in your life - Whatever Your Circumstances. That is something everyone can do. It doesn’t take money, a life partner, or even health. If you’re unhappy with your life, try little steps to make it better. Life is hard for everyone, but we can’t allow ourselves to focus on the bad. You have to turn your thoughts to something positive. And there is always something positive. Start a ritual with a cup of coffee or tea or juice,” she says. “Clean yourself up, put on some music or your favorite morning show, pour your coffee, sit down and write down five good things about your life. Remember to include: clean water on demand, a roof over your head, living in a free country, and no wars or bombs outside your window. ”She thinks the best thing for folks who feel old and alone is to choose to focus on the good things in their life for five minutes. “Try it every morning for a week,” she says.
All above brought me to the point where I've decided to do something "nice" everyday, something small. I will also take note of 3 different things everyday that I can be grateful for in my life.

I want to see if there will be a change in my life.
For now i like to think of myself getting YOUNGER and YOUNGER every day.
Aging doesn't have to be graceful or conservative. You'd be surprised how few people really are watching and life is much more interesting when you don't care if meaningless others approve or not.
For those who do not yet have grey hair, I use Johnson's baby shampoo once a week, and my hair has very little grey in it at age 56. (its the chemicals of some shampoos that will remove the natural color of hair faster than than it should be, over the years)
Exercise a little each day, some like walking, I try to keep fit lifting weights. Working safely, I use the Bowflex as it has no weights that can fall on your feet, but still gives good results (for my age). At this age I lift, not to gain, but to keep what I have left.
Muscles will start to deteriorate when we get older. My mom lost so much strength (age 79) she was having trouble walking, and needed me to open a simple jar. (she stopped exercising in her 50s)
It’s your life, do what makes you happy. If you are stuck in a bad situation, make changes.
You only life once - enjoy!
At the end of the day, we all have to live with our life - make the best of it and do the best that you can do.
And remember there is always somebody worse off than you! Keep well,
I have a small dog who keeps me fit by making me walk even when I don't want to. She is a great companion too. I hold coffee mornings for the "girls" and we generally have a good laugh. Indoor kurling is a good exercise as and when I can.
Life is what you make of it,if you don't put anything in,you won't get anything out.
