The Big One, folks?

Watching the news in Portuguese, so not getting everything. But I'm catching enough. 20 deaths so far, in central China, with no real knowledge about the biology of the virus. So far, likely spread at first from snake meat to a customer in a market. Bad enough, but the real worry is it then spread person to person in the snake eater's family, WITHOUT eating snake. These viruses are all about in a variety of animals, mostly birds, pork and reptiles. Rarely, they spread to primates, where they remain unless bush meat is eaten, chimp steak, although with the abominable behaviors of the more adventurous homosexuals, perhaps some of those chimps were looking pretty sexy, as perhaps with HIV AIDS.. Humans have been lucky that the viruses somehow choose to stay put in our non human friends. Now snake to human belly, and human to human. Who is not betting on the viruses in the long run? But I digress. I'm starting to wear masks more often, and washing my hands many times daily. How about rosary beads around the neck? The last world wide pandemic of a human to human spread agent was in 1918, with almost 50 million deaths. The Spanish flu, which didn't even start there. Let's hope the scientists working on the problem aren't government employees. The saying, "good enough for government work" applies. And the Chinese are apparently considering quarantine for 5 whole cites! For some 10 million people. Someone tell me how they plan to pull THAT off. it will make Tiannamen look like a cake walk.
