Building a hospital in 10 days...
I've seen video from China with a dozen or so tractors and earth moving equipment running around the clock and scheduled to build a hospital in 10 days. I keep thinking dog and pony show. Were the plans already made for a soon to open project? Land already cleared? Sewer and drainage already installed in the ground? Fast setting concrete doesn't cure in less than a few weeks, hope they know that.In the 70's I worked for a company that made prefabricated panels. Their big contracts were for hospitals in Saudi Arabia attached to U-shape tracks bolted to a concrete slab retained the walls around steel columns and joists.
Plumbing, electrical, a/c venting takes time...
Airplane hangars, warehouses in 10 days. Fully equipped real hospitals... I have my doubts.

They build buildings like that before........
They will have to do something - not sure how reliable official figures are anyway.
Things CAN be done much quicker now.
I watched your streaming video that states 1,000 bed hospital in 6 days.
Cement walls created by 3D mortar have great possibilities. Thoughts of conventional structures have to be moved aside as the entire methods of construction have changed.
The 2nd video is a result of YEARS of planning.

Top of the list is this car doesnt say police...its says ?? on the side of the van. Also, they have assault rifles and vests that are standard for marines.
Also those aren't hazmat suits, its half asses...in other words, chinese military!
They have contained the virus to that seafood market in Wuhan and managed to keep people tracked or constrained. Flights have been cancelled, UK/US people are being flown back and quarantined for the incubation period. Good.
It seems like another version of the flu virus and people with mild symptoms are surviving. It seems to mainly affect and kill the elderly or those with a lung disease already. Not every case develops into pneumonia or anything serious.
But in the meantime, you probably have more chance of dying from writing silly blogs on CS!
At 12 seconds you can see the hood of the vehicle and the word police in English and Chinese.
It's apparently just another strain of the flu virus anyway (vulnerable people getting the pneumonia symptoms) but the world is aware and lesser symptoms mean people will recover. It's very impressive how the WHO have to deal with a shed load of unhygienic and stupid Chinese people. That's where it all started after all!
Again, lots of workers walking around that appear to be doing little to nothing.
Based on the LIMITED initial details I cannot imagine why anyone would think it was possible. It was only later revealed it had been done in a similar (or lesser) scale elsewhere. So it was easy to have doubts of such claims.
Did you see the first few days of construction? It didn't appear like a coordinated effort.
Watching live video feed during the project always showed at least 20% of the work crew standing around. That doesn't give the impression they would complete their task in the allocated time frame.
I read there were more than 7,500 construction workers working 24 hours a day for 10 days.
Yes, the hospital opened on the 10th day as patients arrived. How much of it was actually functioning? Probably not important as construction continued.
Congratulations to the Chinese government for making it happen.
Hopefully effective containment and treatment will be undertaken.
