Mild panic of former days....

...I recall younger years, with terribly risky driving, and an automatic autonomic reaction on seeing any blue flashing lights behind me. And a sigh of relief when the cruiser passes to snag some other unlucky motorist. These days, in spite of having land vehicles doing 140+ before red lining, I now drive like a church lady, and don't seem to get these feelings. Funny, these changes with the years,--- but it took some time. Old dogs, new tricks. And such fears are common. They start in many ways and places.

There are probably more than twice as many cars out there now than when you were a wild kid. You were outnumbered then, and we are all overwhelmed now. What can I gain with that stress? Maybe a temporary parking space? How many disasters did I just barely miss and not even know? Don't wanna know. Call me a church lady too.

So right we are, KB. Joining pseudoestranged mom to help twin girl number two set up her first place outside of the home, for her first job, awesome, PAID, internship, at a serious biological research lab nearby. Got her a nice new car. She's a good enough driver, but as with many young ladies in my experience, has a bit of a lead foot, now and then. Worse than boys???? BTW, my rides are all antiques, now, and I had trouble even figuring out how to start the contraption, let alone understanding the Star Trek radio. And yes, I cried on the way back home last night. Happy tears, in part.
