Meditation trick for busy minds

Just a tip I got from a friend. I'm gonna try it, once the weather warms.

You sit with your eyes on this selected item until a thought arises.
When you realize that you are thinking. Just switch your attention on something else.
Continue to keep switching every time you realize you are having thoughts.
Breathe long slow breaths. In and out of your open mouth.
Just slightly open mouth.
You don’t want people to think you’re weird because your mouth is gaping open. Lol
Do this for about ten minutes as often as you want in a day.
You can also sit in a chair looking out a window.
You might find yourself shifting from object to object often in the beginning.
No mantras only allowing what is in eye sight to fill you up.
