The Isolation Blog

A place for those of us in lockdown (currently Spain but coming to a place near you soon) to share what's happening or indeed what's not happening, have a winge, report on what's happening "outside" etc. It could also be used for updating who has supplies of toilet rolls in stock professor laugh

I dont make the rules, I just enforce them.
Z, maybe the pope is just ensuring the governments realise that these services are considered essential to those who need them
Maybe its just economics, a lot of these old priests are costing the church big money...
Molly, his comment was addressed to his clergy not the government, if he's so convinced their services are needed why isn't he leading them from front, instead of locked away in his own city dunno
Z, in fairness to that pope, he is the one I would believe to do the right thing more that any of the others.

He can't tell governments what to do, but by telling the priests publicly what to do, then he is letting the governments know as well.
zman I agree with Molly just the same as Boris or you government are not going around the doors giving ou help and sympathy or even prayers who believe in that.

We all have different jobs to do doh doh

sorry I am feeling full sympathy when seeing all the coffins lined up in Italy and if a dying person gets comfort from a God well so be it.teddybear
Molly, it was written into the rules everywhere from the start that priests have free movement, even the UK has them down as essential workers, but if he wants his troops to go into battle would it kill him to visit a few hospitals.........hmmm yes it probably would , and what would be the point of that dunno

Anyway we're drifting into a religious argument here doh so let's wait until String posts a youtube vid to settle that one .
Red, so you're saying someone should have to die to give you a little comfort, you just convinced me more than ever that this religion thing is BS.
Pedro might have a few ideas on that too.
zman your splitting hairs, usually the sympathy is in church or large groups, that cannot happen now as you know.

I would not feel better with a prayer or the such like but I know folk that get comfort that way, I will not knock religion it has always had a place in this world whether we all believe or not. wave wave
Pat, how is Pedro, we don't see him over here on the dark side very often dunno
Red, I'm not splitting hairs, over 60 priests in Italy alone have died, mostly as a result of giving last rights, I would go so far as to accuse the church of murdering those priests, as they knew full well when they sent them in that death was the most likely outcome for them, what a totally pointless waste of life, they can't even donate their organs to make even a little sense from it.
OMG Z you are crossing a line.

These are people who have always preached they and God are there and you want them to step daintily back and say oh no son not last rites go die alone?

Those are asked for last rites believe in their religion, and those who gave them, risking their lives, believe too. The Pope ordered no-one forward. Any priest leaving his parishioners to die uncomforted and unassured they go into the afterlife they believe in, would have lived a lifelong lie.

They don't, priest or parishioner, deserve anyone's mockery simply because they lived by different beliefs and died comforted.
Z
When has a general ever lead his army from the front line confused
He sends in his troops as cannon fodder while he stays safe well away from the action.
And anyway IF God didn't create this virus as a test for his followers then they should accept that they are in his hands and if he wants them to join him then they should be more than happy doing his work angel
I am surprised that this blog is still open...check the blog that pleads for Zman to continue...

Since there is a shortage of masks...and the novel corona virus is taking lives of healthcare workers and creating shortages of healthy healthcare workers (you are automatically isolated and not in a position to work if you test positive for the virus)...it is important that people practice social distancing and not go into the hospital...unless you have respiratory distress...visitors are restricted but end of care patients can have a visitor with some restrictions in place...stay in the patient's room but do have bathroom privelages...

Enjoy your staycation...

get your ash back here my friend we can agree to disagree confused

You are missed by all I can only think the isolation is getting to you. Bad news coverage and then us ladies doh

I got my message for 3 months isolation do not know how I will cope with all of that but cope I will. I will be the fittest 72 year old bird banana banana banana
Surely that is a good thing, Viv.
I want there to be no social gatherings.
Some people are still too thick or brazen to do it voluntarily I'm afraid.
@ Molly.

Absolutely. Too many idiots thinking they know better.

Take care over there.hug
Ger, generally people are doing the right thing here which is great.
The cases are still growing as in all countries, but are not out of control. Yet at least.
Molly, yes, but that includes 2 people observing every regulation to the letter and standing chatting 2 to 3 metres apart.

I'm as happy as you that hugging parties aren't happening.
Luckily, I have always been unsociable, so I don't miss standing chatting in the slightest laugh
Well, Molly, I'm sure you know best. Let's talk a week or so into your isolation. Are you still going to work? Seeing anyone you know, ever?
I am working from home.
Have seen 2 people I know in the last 2 weeks.
Ah, great you can work from home, phew.

I have seen one person I know, once a week, in the last 3 weeks, because I was self-isolating before the lockdown. The streets are empty when I walk my dog and shopkeepers are just eyes over a mask.

I have NO IDEA what my phone bill will be after this but I may have to sell the house to pay it rolling on the floor laughing
Oy!
You can't sell MY house laugh
Update on Southern Africa is that Zim's doctors have downed tools, apparently because of little or no stores. SA is the worst infected country on the continent. More than 700 cases.uh oh
That's not good news, Luke blues

Especially for the poor Zimbabweans.

Corrupt governments very mad
Hopefully someone will come up with a long/short term solution in Zim, Mol. I get along with the locals well, a real down to earth decent, mostly educated lot.
Where there's education, there's hope wine
I love them! dancing cheers
you should be a life coach. thumbs up
Hey Missy I have you to thank..I think life coach belongs to you laugh

You always saw yourself as the weak one..Look what you bloody did for me woman..You just don't realise your worth..I do believe that what you did for me you could use that tool to do for others as employment for real hug
Yeah I'm usually doing that to others here in Aus as well..They always tell me I inspire them..They would be shocked to know what this new world was doing to me laugh

It was a horrible feeling..I was thinking of really sad things of my past just always teary..Didn't want to get out of bed..I have no clue if that was the start of depression but what ever it was it scared me..I so hope you realise what you did for me..I put on a front of happiness with my son and friends on the phone because I felt ashamed of lying to them not telling them how I was really feeling as I didn't want to worry them.
Isolation- perfect time to learn a new language, study a new culture, learn to play a new instrument, and read.. plenty of free books online.

Stay home ! wave

go to Harvard. its free

i thought about learning the guitar. it's pretty dusty at the moment.
I love nutty humour even from those I don't associate with that's just being honest..Some are able to get away with real feelings on cs..Some have snide remarks thrown their way if they dare share..Like I don't understand how hermits live as you know..I'm such a peoples person a touchy being full of laughter and I'm a mover I'm into motivating people here in the real world..I suppose people on cs can't understand where I'm coming from but during this time people just need to let people feel how they feel no matter how stupid it sounds to them.
