The Isolation Blog

A place for those of us in lockdown (currently Spain but coming to a place near you soon) to share what's happening or indeed what's not happening, have a winge, report on what's happening "outside" etc. It could also be used for updating who has supplies of toilet rolls in stock professor laugh

I've been asked why Spain is so badly affected by the virus, it's a question now being examined here and the article below goes a long way in explaining it.

For those that want the CS short answer it was a football match played here against Italy.

The USA because of the Mardi Gras..People entering the USA to celebrate..Maybe that's your problem
Of course the Mardi Gras weren't the sole reason

All governments of all countries were told in January..The only country that did something back then was Germany are doing the best with out any lock down...They have the beds..They have the best doctors & nurses in the world...They have all the equipment needed.
Further to the story of a man walking a stuffed dog to get round the lockdown, police have now caught a man using a stale loaf under his arm as an excuse to be out and about laugh
@ Merc.

Germany does have lockdown. It was instigated in Bavaria where my sister -in-law lives on 20th March. Her sister who was staying with her from Scotland got out just in time. They seem to have a better grip on the situation though.
Z, your comment re the stale loaf was a timely reminder to take my own shopping bag when I went up to the high street uh oh

I have been dragging the dog up to the bins when I take out my rubbish so that I am not caught empty-handed and accused of taking an outing when I am on my way back

dancing dog
Bogey seriously slayed me with the translator fluent in 7 languages clip. Just sayin. I laughed really hard.
idea those new to lockdown may find this a fruitful way of spending a little time. In brief - set up a few dominoes to feed your cats.

V, you may need to get the bins moved closer if that's more than 100mtrs laugh
CC, "Bogey seriously slayed me"

Yep Bogey's comments have that effect on me as well rolling on the floor laughing
V, maybe just as well I don't have a cat any more if that's the quality of entertainment they expect these days wow doh laugh
I hope everyone's keeping well wine
Morning Chancer,

How are things with you? Hope work is still reasonably safe for you. Has the puppy calmed down a bit. It's good that the weather is improving and that you can get it in the garden for some exercise. My dog is post op from a leg problem so we are having to do a daily regime to build up her muscles.

Take care of yourselveswave
Morning from the U.K.

Hope everyone is coping. I hate the confinement but at least the dog and the garden keep me occupied.

Stay safe everyone.wave
Good Evening from a padded cell laugh wave

GS was it only some parts of Germany in lockdown?

Stay safe all teddybear
Hi Mercedes

It was Bavaria only to my knowledge. They have been pretty strict over there .

Sending a touchy feely hug to you.teddybear teddybear
Stay safe beautiful lady hug

I have a big home but I feel like I'm in a padded cell..I suppose all feel like that.

I appreciate your touchy feely hugs teddybear
The U.K. Prime Minister has just tested positive with Covid 19.

sigh
Chancer, wave all well here far as I know beer
GS, afternoon to you wave I did a trial of I Spy with a friend to see if we could use it here as a way to spend a few minutes away from the virus, but when your opponent isn't even in the same country let alone the same room it doesn't really work laugh wine
Merc, wave have you padded your cell because the neighbours complained about the music and elephant dunno laugh
GS, yes Boris has it, hopefully just a mild version, I think we all knew when they announced Rabb was the designated survivor yesterday laugh Rabb was the first to self isolate but has since twice tested negative.
I had a quick look at multiplayer games online but apart from the cult ones there isn't a lot - Monopoly, anyone? Scrabble?

I never liked those much in real life though, I can spell but when it comes to Scrabble I can look at 7 letters until my eyes cross but never see the 7 letter word the more talented spot at once rolling on the floor laughing
GS, as health secretary I suppose it was his duty to get it laugh bit of a short straw that job, anything catching breaks out and you have to be seen in hospitals meeting staff and patients, better to made minister of war, no chance of even seeing a bullet in that job doh laugh
I play Words with Friends

Generally it's good, although it disallows some words it should allow, and allows words I don't believe are words at all
All you have to do now is find someone stupid enough to play against you laugh
If you ever become a cat burglar, you can explain away your bag of tools with that laugh
Molly, I fear I may have left it too late to become a cat burglar, I image were I to trying scaling a building now I'm more likely to be called a Bull burglar sigh laugh
Maybe only do it in china shops so
Molly, China shops............ might be a while before I feel comfortable going to a Chinese shop uh oh laugh
Z by padded cell I meant my street is always dead quiet now..I don't hear kids playing any more
Merc, that's good, the less people around the safer you are, wish I could say the same, one pair of neighbours are in and out like yoyos doh I imagine by now they're known locally as the super spreaders, some just have zero thought for others very mad
We've been told dont go out unless its absolutely necessary, and dont congregate in groups. Then told we have to vote in local council elections or be fined 136 bucks... I'm guessing about a million of us won't. half will just pay the fine, half of us will argue the point... I think even a dim witted labor government will see it is not worth chasing up.
Pat, that's staggering doh the last place you want to be is in a confined space like a polling booth, I assume you use them there dunno but anything that brings crowds of people together at the moment is madness, certainly I'd refuse to vote and also refuse to pay any fine.
Pat, I'd say people will be suing them if forced to vote in public instead of having to pay a fine.
Putting people's lives in danger like that is criminal.
Talking of idiots, the UK police have fined a shopkeeper ( for marking 2 mtr distance lines on the pavement outside her shop in chalk ) for vandalism claiming there'd be anarchy if they didn't fine her , when exactly was it that brains ceased to be issued at birth very mad
Well here's someone happy with their lot at the moment, a spot of sunbathing without being gawped at by visitors dancing laugh

Pat , maybe they're more realistic here, yesterday we had a similar raid , they shut it down but no mention of anyone being fined, but of course maybe the major was in there at the time laugh
