U.S.A.....making it great again
I have heard it said that the U.S.A. was a great country and in the process of being great again. Maybe it is.
I don't like talking politics, and maybe I am just missing something here...which happens a lot with me.
But, we are suppose to have the best medical care in the world. Heck, that is what justifies why we pay a fortune for it. "You pay so much because you have the best healthcare system in the world"....I have often heard it said.
Then why are we leading the world with the most reported cases of Covid? The countries that are in second and third place behind us....I believe have already hit their apex. We...on the other hand...the professionals have no clue when we will hit our apex. In other words, the growth of this virus if far from finished here, and how many more future cases are unable to be predicted.
Why is this... with the "best healthcare system in and the world" Why?
Is it lies?
Is it incompetence?
Just something that baffles me I guess.
Something does not add up here.
Either other countries are under reporting.
Either we are over reporting.
Or....we were very ill prepared...and arrogant perhaps?
In any case, I have heard it said, that when the worse happens...it will bring out the true character of others. With political affiliation set aside for a second here....lets hope as a semi-intelligent group of people living in this great country...lets hope we can pinpoint, when we vote for putting leaders in place, that have control over our lives, we vote the right people (competent) in place. I don't care if they are Democrat or Republican....male or female.

Z....it is just unbelievable that we have the top level of reported cases....maybe there are a lot of other unreported cases in the world; therefore, under reporting.
I don't know...really, I don't. It just baffles me with the numbers that are being put across my tv screen and we are suppose to be a great country..."again." If you use somebody's own words.

I am unqualified to make the judgement as to which is the best country.
I certainly like some things about the USA and dislike some other things.
I'm guessing that every country has room for improvement.
This one definitely does. For instance, adoption of a universal health plan
that insured everyone who needs it would be a great improvement. That's clear.
Changing the presidential election to a simple majority would yield better results
as evidenced not only by the last presidential election, but also the next to last time the loser won the election, George W. Bush.
Will be going to sleep soon, nothing much else I can do at the moment.
Different countries do some things better than others.
Scandinavian countries generally top the charts as the best countries to live in overall though, for overall standard of living.
It would be nice of the whole globe was a "best" for everyone living on it....instead of the top one tenth of one percent.
I just know, through the years, there have been shows that have covered things like thing...posing scenarios where a virus spreads across the globe. It would have been nice for countries to have been prepared for something like this ahead of time.....it seems like it should have been a given, especially with the outbreaks in the past few years.
and that is wonderful.
But...I have also heard it said on another show, that this "might be the big one."

is there ever a time where it is too late to learn.

I don't follow politics all that close...but from my understanding, the reason why we didn't have a universal healthcare system is that it would take away incentive for competition with offering top notch care.

I get the gist of what you're saying on your blog.
It's kind of like the ole saying "We can put a man on the moon, but we still can't find a cure for cancer."
Throughout the world, not only the USA, there is soo much technology, medical and other. Yet, here we are with a virus, no one on earth seems to know how to cure?
They've got robots. Not long ago, we got 4K TV's, 5G wireless band, and already 8K TV and 10G are ready and waiting in the wings.
They can do many heart surgeries without opening the chest. They can clone animals, and people soon too, if not already. They can take DNA from a dead pet and give it rebirth to look like that same pet.
They had a cure for the common cold, but they stashed it away or something happened to it.
They had alternate fuels for cars, but the oil companies made sure that didn't reach mainstream.
They had alternate energy sources, but they got stashed away.
Scientists now say Teleporting will be possible in the future..
I mean SOOOOOOO MANY THINGS that have been done in technology, and sooo many things that have been hidden or stashed away or muted.. by some one or some group.
So much technology intellect the world over, and their telling the people they don't have a cure for this virus?
Something doesn't add up.
