What is with guys who are 60 plus and older, they have kids but not sure if they want more kids.

Seriously people, there is an end for women to produce trophy babies for some old fart! Its called "geriatric pregnancy". If you start a pregnancy for a woman at 60 please do the math. I find it a bit ridiculous.
The question on the profile is Want kids? most of answers are" not sure", really at 60 years you don't know if you want kids? what planet have you guys been visiting? Just because technology allows people to play God, is this a mentally health issue? ego? .

I've seen the same box checked by a few similarly aged women & wondered the same thing ... confused
It Doesn't Make Sense!!

But it Does ... If it's taken to mean the person checking said box would consider meeting someone who has kids living with them & would bring the kids into the equation.

I've not checked said box.
For me, meeting a woman with dependent kids living with her may not be an automatic deal-killer, but Very nearly so.

I've always looked at it as another way of saying they don't mind yours.

We all have preferences. What if the woman or guy should find themselves with some one that still has kids?

"Doesn't want's more but will accept yours", is an option. Maybe it's over looked.

Maybe you have point rose. Maybe some are still wanting to reproduce if the woman is capable. Or adopt.

Just some other thoughts maybe.

dunno
wow
Never mind the pic mention.

I confused the name with CELTIC-rose.

They want to date MUCH younger women.

I've seen many seniors with new borns.

They like it because the have one person to hold their attention all day.
IR, as often, Micman took the wind out of my sails. May just mean OK for kids in picture. Some men are crazier than others.
There is a separate option for those who will go out with a woman who already has kids. It's something like 'No, but welcome yours' or something like that.

Any man who says he wants his own is looking for a young fertile woman probably half his age.
At the time I created my profile, my daughter, granddaughter and I were living together.

I didn't want to get pregnant and give birth myself, it was hard enough co-parenting my granddaughter. My daughter and I were working opposite shifts and operating a revolving door in terms of childcare as families with two parents often do.

When it came to the checkbox "Wants kids", however tired I was, however much I wished for a decent night's sleep, or an evening off, I couldn't bring myself to check a box that I felt implied I didn't want the ones I had. Maybe it was guilt about secret fantasies of an uninterrupted granny nap. laugh

I don't suppose the above scenario ever crossed your mind, peculiar as it is. Perhaps everybody has their own peculiar reasons for completing their profiles in their own peculiar way.

There is also the issue of minimising boundaries to connecting with people. If a profile is too specific in terms of a desired match it excludes all, but a few possibilities. Saying you want to meet someone aged 30 excludes more people than aged 25-35.

Stating age requirements between 18-99 doesn't necessarily mean a person is looking for someone aged 18, or 99, it just indicates they don't want to exclude possibility. Say they specify age 25-35 and someone delightful aged 37 excludes themselves based on the information presented?

Someone saying they're not sure if they want more kids is a way of being inclusive to all possibilities. It may say, "I'm not going to make a judgement without knowing the circumstances".

It's healthy and emotionally mature to not make judgements without knowing the circumstances.
Ah jaysus Jac, we have to make judgements based on the information they give us.laugh
If they want to qualify it, they can write something on their profile. Something like 'At the moment I am not looking to have my own children, but wouldn't totally exclude it if it were important to the right partner'
They are also free to change their choices at any stage.
It's one thing to read a profile and make a judgement that you don't want to reply to, or initiate contact with that person.

It's another thing to create a blog making judgements about a group of people based upon logical fallacy, supposition, or stereotyping.

The former is a free will decision, likely based upon a number of factors; the latter is discrimination based upon one.
I agree..phew help

Phrase The Question Less Ambiguously ...

Do You Wish To Breed/Be Bred?
O Yes
O No
O Maybe

grin

cowboy
Then you'll get people saying if I don't breed, I'll die.
Point taken, Molly. That was STILL too ambiguous!

This is pretty straightforward ...
I wanna get someone pregnant/get pregnant.
O Yes
O No
O We'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
