My Covid-19 Blog
Hello lovers! So many blogs about this famous virus so I decided to just post one of my own.
March 2, we had our first case here in Jordan
government took extreme measures in order to protect us.
launched awareness campaign
halted travel to/from different countries . Thousands of passengers from the last few planes that landed here were taken straight to quarantine areas - 5 star hotels for 14 days.
suspended tourist travels. I had to cancel my trips.
March 10, halted all educational institutions operations, public and private sectors closed down, started working from home
March 17, implemented our National Defense Law, total lockdown.
March 22, the government allowed Gas and Water deliveries
March 23, the government allowed doorstep deliveries of water, bread, and baby formula
March 24, small neighborhood grocery and convenience stores along with pharmacies, drinking-water stores and bakeries were allowed to open from 10:00 to 18:00 .on foot only to get basic supplies; vehicles are still not permitted.
Thursday till Sunday morning, no one allowed to go outside.
425 total cases down to 165 active cases, 7 deaths.
Things here look very promising and could go back to normal soon.
Our government acted early and able to control the spread so yes, I believe the quarantine, lockdown are helping...
meanwhile...
I'm working from home for more than a month now. The company decided to make some golden hand sanitizer so we are busy and still in business, very grateful for that, many out there are losing their job.
this lockdown thingy keeps me grounded and brought me closer to loved ones and old friends. From a distance I'm able to organize a group of young people back home to do something for our small community and help the most needy there. Sent some help to buy sacks of rice and groceries to give to the poorest of poor. Also able to give back to my beloved old convent school, with my classmates, we were able to raise some funds to give to our sisters in need and some of our mentors then. Feels good!
Somehow this virus is doing us a lot of good, we sit back, reflect and realize the most important things in life.
Be well and stay safe everyone!

just finished working here, I thought it might be polite to log in here and say Hi to nice people like you
It sounds like your country did a wonderful job in keeping things to a minimum there....hopefully that holds.
I'm glad your country acted quickly and closed it down before it took hold.
It's no fun, but the lucky ones will get through this. Hopefully as better people.
yes, our King here is doing a great job and has our full support, so proud of Jordan .
I'm worried back home, it's a different story there so I'm trying to help as much as I can. This is the time to show how much we care...a little help could go a long way
I was wondering. There was nothing I hear on the news here about them. I asked Hazel about over there and she said in Manila that they are staying in....but she mentioned something about some might not be heeding the quarantine order.
been busy and trying to be productive...always feels good to be back here
Yes, Jordan is doing a great job in handling this pandemic, we're very positive and looking forward for things to go back to normal soon.
It's been very boring months but not too bad. I'm having more time connecting to family and friends , helps me get through this lockdown weeks.
how are things over there ?
Our main problem now is spread in residential homes- nursing homes, etc.
Hopefully enough resources will be put into these areas to control it there as the residents are the people who'll be most affected if they get the virus.
The population density, of course, is not going to help anything.
I heard over here that if Japan does not get ahead of the virus, they are facing major issues as well.
Hopefully there is light at the end of all this.
that's very scary, we are helplessly watching some countries falling apart...nothing we can do except save ourselves at the moment, by doing that we are also saving others, ironic!
this will get worse before it could get any better, I think this virus has just getting started, we don't know and we don't see what we're dealing with here so when they say "flattening the curve" I don't know what the heck they mean by that
Nice to see you again!!
I could use some of that hand sanitizer. Tired of using whiskey to wash my hands.
this virus will take its time, I'm very hopeful but at the same time I'm stocking more and more food and water
All we can do is slow it down while the scientists do their thing.
we sell $40/per gallon, it comes in 5 gallon pail, 55 gallon drum and 275 gallon totes too, it's 80%IPA so a lot better than that whisky. You should save that whisky for a rainy night
My gut feeling is saying exactly what you say....hopefully not the reality.
slow it down...how long can we stay inside our houses till the food supplies run out ?
If this virus continue to spread, would take time for the industry to reopen, we need the agriculture and food industry and others that provide the basics...then prices will soar.
I ordered more groceries online few days ago, I'm still waiting for them to deliver...
so much for watching The Walking Dead and all those apocalyptic movies
Social distancing will have to continue for a long time. Agriculture and other industries will still produce food, albeit using different methods.
I hope you're well and staying safe there!
In some places in the Philippines, people are fighting and killing for food. Government put them on quarantine or lockdown while they have nothing in the kitchen so they either go hungry or go out and risk getting the virus, most prefer the latter. I think this is going to get worse there, our health sectors and government are not equipped for this kind of crisis...and hungry people are very angry people.
we don't have that much of 'agriculture" here, we're surrounded by deserts you know!
most countries will ban exports, I've heard many have already started doing that...I wish I planted some veggies by my window here!
Many countries are not self-sufficient. We are too dependent on imported food.
Some countries are better prepared. They have mixed agriculture and are not mono-culture.
My concern is I dont eat many green beans at once and I dont want the huge friggin can to spoil.
my hometown is quite blessed, it's in small Island. from the time this pandemic started, our seashores are full of fishes and shells that provides some food for the people there. The other side are farms that produce plenty of crops so I know people there won't go that hungry but if they have to put them on total lockldown and no one will be allowed out then that would make things very difficult...so that brings us back to social distancing to help slow it down and control it before it could do worse.
check the expiry date first!
what else do you have in your pantry ?
I love socializing but I love solitude too , just be with myself from time to time, chill, recharge....
I've read somewhere that animals are also susceptible to this virus and some meat industries have already shut down...and some farmers have to stop farming.
this virus is going to bring colossal damages ...they say the single biggest threat to man’s continued dominance on the planet is the virus.
Hey, Crazy!
What with everyone cooped up, this would be a Helluva good time for one of your legendary Virtual Theme Parties.
That time the two aliens showed up -- WhizBango & ShaZamee -- and they threatened to destroy the Earth unless we voted 'em King & Queen of the party ... That was Epic
That is terrible to hear in the Philippines.
I said at the beginning of this to my family, once our store shelves go empty...it is time to run to the woods.
It is reported that people who are hungry will rob you after 3 days...and after, I think it was 11, they will kill you.
In my time here I can count on 1 hand the number of people that have actually posted the fact they have actually managed or even bothered to meet anyone in real life...
And as for a physical interaction
They have more chance of one of stringmans prophecy's to come to pass
Virtual Potluck?
Tomorrow?
You Do The Blog -- Like with those keen pictures you come up with?
As soon as you give it the Green Light I'll commence sending out invitations ...
I have a special rig to get hold of WhizBango & ShaZamee ~~~~ ~~~~
Make sure someone brings something with high fiber.
With all that meat, we want to make certain it'll all, you know ... PASS
You may have your blog back, now.

Hmm.. I love this Work From Home thingy. Sure sometimes I still gotta go to the office for a meeting. But not everyday so I don't have to always travel back and forth.. home-office-home which had always been exhausting. Besides I still could buy our needs online or asked my neighbor who sometimes went to traditional market to buy me something I needed, so I am more than ok with the lockdown.
My City Govt has applied what it's called PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar). In general, it's still the "Stay-at-Home" thingy just in a higher scale. Our City is considered a "Red Zone".
Anyway, you stay safe, ok!
