The Baker Act...
The Florida Mental Health Act of 1971 (Florida Statute 394.451-394.47891), commonly known as the "Baker Act," allows the involuntary institutionalization and examination of an individual. The Baker Act allows for involuntary examination (what some call emergency or involuntary commitment), which can be initiated by judges, law enforcement officials, physicians, or mental health professionals. There must be evidence that the person:
*possibly has a mental illness.
*is in danger of becoming a harm to self, harm to others, or is self neglectful.
Both of these are defined in the Baker Act.
I'm reading up on this as there's a Florida resident being considered.
Obviously, this blog has nothing to do with bread or pastry...

He needs a lot of psychiatric intervention.
After all inoculation means you get a bit i say BIT of virus
All leaders around the world are getting blamed for this or that it is maddening, as they want the economy of their country to get back to some semblance and no matter what action they take OR SAY they are criticised at every tern whilst some sit behind a screen just mouthing off.
A president in a public address misses the whole point of, and undermines, the previous speaker.
The previous speaker was providing information about hygiene practise to reduce the spread of the virus for those in essential roles and presumably with a view to managing reduced restrictions.
The president then acts like he's advising the scientific community by suggesting hygiene practise could be used internally as a cure.
For whatever reason, whether he has a very low level of intelligence, or is mentally ill in some way, he missed the plot publicly and bigly.
This is the man who has power over life and death and he's clearly bewildered and out of touch with reality.
I would like to read this Baker Act. There was a time in Ireland, not that long ago, when a husband could pay a doctor a tidy sum if he could afford it, and wanting to marry another woman, he could have the doctor write a letter and a psychiatrist would be paid too, to institutionalise the woman for life.
This was not in the 18th century either. We must watch the mental health laws very closely. We have mad presidents, if madness is not being in touch with reality. Having outbursts of rage and other so called 'mad' symptoms. Have a nice Sunday.
Not unless she's considers Mar-a-Lago her place of residence.
