On the spur of the moment.

Yesterday a friend of mine suggested to me that since weekends are boring why didn't we just load ourselves in the vehicle and just go out somewhere. He said that's what his parents used do years ago.So that's what we both did.We got in his vehicle and went.Yes we did distance ourselves from other people. We both do reside on his late mothers property and do our errands together so we saw no need to distance ourselves from each another.

We put the dog in his vehicle that we both share the care of and just drove to a lake somewhere that we hadn't been to in years and went fishing and afterwards and had some lunch. It was the best time I had in some time, yes we did practice our distancing from other people.Caught some fish but they were to small in size to keep so afterwards we went to a drive up window and had some lunch and then drove to another location did some more fishing and then drove home.It was a fun time just doing something in the spur of the moment.I wonder if any of you have ever just got in your vehicle and just went somewhere to blow the stink off so to speak.smile It felt so good just to be away from our computers,tv and such.

Morning Bear [well it's Sunday morning here and unusually quiet ] That must have felt terrific, to get out and away.
Living in a City here in Dublin where the Covid19 virus is at his higest in the country, there are cops everywhere. It is likely you would have been stopped and in trouble.
I was asked by a friend yesterday to join her sisters and brothers in a large house up the mountains and all go for a walk together.
This is against the ban and I am sure they had a fantastic day. The only thing I am hoping for is that the death rate here in Dublin and elsewhere in my country goes down and that distancing continues as herd immunity is not thought to work.
Mentally it is so good and physically to get out with Dogs and get out of the house. So much that we took for granted. Stay safe wave
Sounds wonderful Bear hug
Sounds great. Low risk, not putting others at risk. would have been nice to catch a keeper though I'm sure.

I am usually spur of the moment, but measured at the moment. My good friend, he cant handle isolation so well, he comes over a few times a week for a coffee and a chat (perfectly legal). I did rearrange the furniture so the chairs are about 3 metres apart, and he puts his own cup in the dishwasher.

Its a balancing act, sure the law says this or that, but the risk of this illness dictates I would probably be still very careful beyond what the law says. When restrictions lift, will I visit my parents? I would love nothing more, but if I have even the slightest sniffle I'll go straight home.
I can't tell you how many times I've thrown my dog in car and just drove for no reason, mostly because the dog loves going for rides.
Oh phoey I forgot to say I'm so glad you had a good time. I enjoy being impulsive.
I'm glad your able to enjoy company with others..I will have to wait patiently till my time allows me to do so.
Bearwoman ~ I think mental health is important too. I don't drive and if I did, I would be very inclined to get in and drive to the sea, At present 2km so I couldn't get very far. The thing is, if done properly, it would not be a threat.

I was at the supermarket this morning and whole families coming shopping [increasing risk for everyone]. young kids going around as kids do, and putting hands on freshly baked bread and getting in peoples way. That to me is far more of a risk.

I have a friend [for many years now ] who suffers with Autism and serious depression, he can't hack the isolation. He comes with a mask and sits far away. This under present restrictions is breaking the law. It is also keeping him sane, to talk, to watch the T.V . together. he too has his own mug. He lives alone. He washes his hands and is very careful.

I do believe he would become very very ill if he was to stay indoors or just go to shops and back.

Take care all. rose
