Now I know for some time to never ever trust a political person.

I knew I was right for never trusting what a political person ever says. The last few weeks I've been listening to what our Gov. Mike Dewine talks about in regards to the virus.
One minute he says the public will not be ordered to wear masks and then today he says the opposite and that folks won't be ordered to wear masks even though they should do so anyway.

The state of Ohio will be opening up some things on May 1 but schools will remain closed indefinitely for the reminder of the school year.

Even the doctor who appears on that very same updates program says the very same as the Gov. says.

I just turned the channel.
I wouldn't have a problem following guidelines but It makes me confused when I hear some one say two totally different things on two separate days apart from each other.

Seems to be pretty wishy washy to me.
I understand where your coming from..
I never trust politicians nor lawyers.

I listen to the news especially Dr. Fauci.

I take responsibility for my own safety.

If those politicians are listening to POTUS then they will have mix messages.

Not everyone has common sense. wave
LaFonda,I don't generally trust political people either but It was an update by the Gov. the Lt Gov and the lady Doctor among others who spoke at the update on the virus and what will take place on the reopening of Ohio which takes place May 5th.
Huh ? He said he wouldn't order it and the next day he says people won't be ordered to do it.
How is that "the opposite" ? confused
jim I'll find both videos of both times if you'd like me too.
I'm confused. Both sentences that you wrote, say almost the same thing.
See the parts I underlined.
Politicians speak with forked tongue. Nothing new. I have always been cautious in the winter. Wear gloves in stores. And thought long ago about the risk walking into an aisle someone just went through. But, until we become Japan and wear masks all the time, people think you are strange if you do.
With old age, I kind of like the idea. Burkas and Chadors start to appeal too. Put on an air of mystery instead of sags and wrinkles.laugh wink

jim I'm sorry but someone had distracted me or I wouldn't had repeated myself twice.

Here's the Youtube and begin with 1:02 and listen closely.
First of all, thanks for both posting it and hinting where I might find the discussion.

I couldn't tell from what you wrote, what you were upset about. Now I have a better understanding.
It seems, that he issued a mandate to wear a mask, and then quickly reversed it, due to net collective outrage in Ohio.
The bottom line, is that there is no mandate to wear a mask. So, there is no fine.
However, stores can refuse you service, if they want to, if you don't have a mouth & nose covering when there. That's their call, not his. However, it's clear, that he would prefer everyone to wear a mask, since it helps prevent spreading the virus to others.
From the start we were being told not to wear masks, that it wasn't necessary. By the experts. Now I think most of us knew that was a lie and that initially they just wanted to make sure masks got to those on the front line. But it was a lie nonetheless, and showed a general lack of trust in the public to do the right thing. People as a rule don't like being lied to.

chancer_returns.

I've never told a lie from the time I was a small child not even a white lie as some people have labeled them cause to me it's still lying in my book.
Bear you never mentioned the tooth fairy or Santa Claus to your kids?

No Mercedes,I never used some fake character or characters to get my sons to always behave themselves. I consider that to be bribery.

I'll never forget the time that a neighborhood kid told my oldest son when my son was in grade school at the time how kids really got their gifts at Christmas time. That the parents brought their gifts not Santa. My son took one look at that kid and said that as long as he continued to find gifts under the tree that he was still going to believe.
I think most of the third world countries have a better handle on the virus (fewer cases, fewer deaths). banana
Bear I didn't type the word bribery...My son was never bribed..He was excited at the thought of santa and the tooth fairy..

Having spent quite a lot of time in North America and trying to learn a few things. I don't profess to know anything re America but I can say that I've crossed over the "Tacony, Betsy Ross, Ben Franklin, and Walt Whitman Bridges" Taken photo's of the so called "Presidential House" when Philadelphia was the Capitol of the US way back in 1770 on a temp basis. I feel very proud "as a Brit" to be able to remember "certain history" of America. I even saw the "Liberty Bell" encased in the glass case. Sometimes, I think that "Some Americans" don't even have a clue about their own "Country" teddybear
