Is your heart like a dessert, yearning, for rain.
When the rain comes,
You can't get enough.
What is the difference,
between one or many.

spl123 If you are speaking about the love between a man a woman, then no. I believe it is only possible to love one person. If the love is real. A widower or widow can still hold the love for their deceased in their heart, or have affection for an x wife as she is the mother of their children.
However even though there is a song 'torn between two lovers' I think real love can only be between two people.

I assume you're not including the love of your children, parents, etc. so for me, definitely not, I just don't see how it would be possible, not even infatuation, it's like your brain would just shut the door on anything like that.

so you're saying " the other woman/other man" can never be be loved by whom ever?
If and when men don't think with their brains, nor do some women either.

Marriage and committed relationships aside.....
single people also, can love two people at the same time.

Lordy but how two songs always brings me back to such difficult times....
when both knew about the other, and I had to choose.... moping

CelticRose I have been in love with a married man and him with me, I felt he loved me intensely. Not just a fling, we had all in common. I don't think he loved his wife [that's not ego] but if your marriage is not working then go, do the decent thing and don't live a lie. Life is not like that. so many men stay [and women] with men they don't love for many many reasons. Relations, their family, whatever.

It is convenient to keep the relationship going and pretend to your wife things are ok, but it is not fair on the woman [or man] who is really in love deeply with the man and wants some commitment.

Who likes being the other woman. I was young too. Innocent. It took me a long long time to get over it.

Rose, Yes you are spot on, I was young and stupid which led me to a few close ones with death through dangerous driving and motorbikes, we were mad and wild enough, had sessions that lasted through the weekend, got plastered, all that, but I never double dated and never was unfaithful, ever. I did however lose a couple of girlfriends through what you're talking about, but c'est la vie, you move on, life was never perfect. wine
