Con: one tool to do all that work.
After working for 60 days and only having small muscles?
No measuring tools, no concept drawings?
Hmmm...
Con: aches and pains.
They taught me how to tell the time without using a clock.
Pretty simple.
I'm guessing the base is limestone.
Has he considered building above ground ?
I'm thinking it could have been anywhere. Asia or Australia are possibilities.
My observations:
Professional photography documenting his project.
Shirtless in the sun for 60 days.
Except for the leach and fish, I didn't see any bugs, birds or wildlife.
The lake water was murky and his pool was clear.
The bottleneck guitar wasn't appropriate for the region.
Interesting and I'll watch his other videos!
Con -- Can't afford property taxes due to the new Improvements.
Many people can feel the rhythm of the earth quicken in countries where there are seasons, hence 'as mad as a March hare ' animals are tuned in to quickening of movement in the earth and of course moods and feelings of their owners.
We have lost touch in this Computer world , gained a lot but lost a lot more.
Banking would be gone and bartering done instead.
It's all fine and dandy until you get a heart attack and need an up to the minute functioning hospital with surgeons and nurses and modern equipment but I still
try and live a very simple life and we don't need or use half the saucepans and 'stuff'
we have or clothes. Less is more for me.
His art works (constructions) are beautiful.
Pros: no expensive materials
Cons: the structure may flood during the rainy season.
In that region the property tax is not that much.
Maybe no property tax since they can't see it (under ground). :banana
I agree. That's why I connected a generator to my stationary bicycle to power my TV.
Those 90 minute documentaries really burn calories!
Recycling clothes is very enjoyable and it is amazing what you can do. There is a designer who does that here in Dublin. Take care
I do believe that we as humans will find it hard to revert to TOTAL primitive times.
The Amish also has updated. They now have cell phones and drives.
Yes they still use their horse and carriage.
He must get some kind of compensation.
I like hand tools. Power is a pain mostly. Cords, batteries, worry about severing fingers or arteries. I have lots of hand tools and get aggravated at auctions when bidding against idiot going to put on rec room wall. ARGH..I need that tool to USE. And you, fool, pay more than new cause it's rusty.
If I had a dollar for every such item I've seen @ auctions, I could buy my own hand tool company ...
Guns @ country auctions are insane.
They don't even have to be old & rusty to get a crazy price -- as if THAT makes any sense?!
I've seen bids like Double the price of an exact same New gun.
I've been tempted to tell the auctioneer to drag things out 'til I can get to town & buy out the LGS (local gun shop).
He could sell 'em for scalper prices & we'd Both be rolling in shekels
It's the same concept like casting the concrete with cement (but with less tools, less cost, and less man power).
I think some people are stupid. Example, I attended a car auction and people were bidding over each other and the cars where not worth that much.
They all should have come together and said which car they wanted, bid on it, and everyone leaves with something.
This guy building pools in a primitive way is smarter and more creative than bidders.
No need for a house plan or inspection.
Hell, it cost me a lot of money for cement to cast my walkway.
