Zero APR & 84 months to pay...

I knew car dealers would have a tough time selling cars this month but I didn't know they would be making crazy offers. One local dealer is offering no interest loans with 7 years of payments and no money down.
That roughly works out to $357 a month on a $30,000 transaction.
If you are keeping cars longer and purchased one from an 'off lease' dealer you would be getting into a deal with a 2 year old car and your last payment the car would be 9 years old.

You can shop from your cellphone and they will deliver the car to you.
Something to consider?

That scares me. It does.

I see in the news today that the state of Florida is in Phase One, lifting the stay-home-order in many counties allowing many non-essential business to reopen while observing social distancing.
Hi Chat, I don’t intend to drive yet. Not confident enough coz I’ve been a ‘right hand drive’ driver since I was 17 and to suddenly switch to ‘left hand drive’ is a bit too daunting.

I reckon it will take me another year to overcome my fear. Only then I’ll get Art to look for an old beat up car for his MiMi! grin

I never trust a sales person. Who would buy (pay) for a vehicle for 7 years?
I bet the cost of the vehicle is much more than MSRP.
They will be making a HUGE profit at the end of that loan.

Here is how they make money:
Inflated cost of price of vehicle
Inflated cost of delivery fee
Inflated cost to license
Inflated cost of amenities on the vehicle (ie sticker, emblem, etc)
They even include a huge price that they will donate to charity.
And the list goes on, and on, and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. frustrated
I saw that same ad too Chat. I wonder how many of those cars will end up being repossessed?
MiMi, before coronavirus, I'd suggest Uber. It's the most cost effective way to do local travel.

Hang in there and find some less traveled roads to practice driving on.
thumbs up
LaFonda, unfortunately deals like that attract people who are on the edge and normally cannot arrange financing.
Just a twist on a sour market and hopefully it won't last long.

ooby, funny video!

Fay, considering they have a good chance of selling maintenance agreements with deals like that, the car will start having serious problems a few months after the extended warrantee ends or about 4-5 years into the loan.
Let me know when they have those terms on REASONABLY prices used cars in good condition with low mileage. grin
Jim, most of the people I know recommmend offleaseonly.com for used cars around South Florida. They spell out their fees and have a return policy if you dislike your purchase.
Thanks for the tip. I do see that they have one location as far 'north' as Palm Beach.
I registered for their site notifications (a rarely used email address). So, if something looks exceptional,
perhaps I'll look them up next winter. In the meantime I'm sure that email will be flooded with notices. laugh
That's the down side of giving out an email address.
I haven't purchased from Ikea and Best Buy in nearly a year and their emails are dwindling.
I always buy second-hand and for cash, which meant my first car in the UK was 12 years old and leaned to the left over 50 mph and smoked more furiously than I do rolling on the floor laughing

But it got me from A to B and back for a year, and when its MOT was due I sold it for 100 quid to the mechanic. Seeing I bought it for 250 quid it wasn't a bad deal. I love my present car so much I brought it from the UK and matriculated it here for Spanish use.

The thought of committing to monthly payments makes me giddy but sheesh, if prices continue to drop and I get the chance for a once-in-a-lifetime car - who knows. smitten
I neglected to mention: No payments for 6 months.
That's seven and a half years before the loan is paid off.
