VE day 75 years ago Edna was at the party
Yes a few days late but I just saw the clip, and it is a bit of a feel-good one.Warning - there be bagpipes. Just a little bit but Edna, a Scottish WREN who vividly remembers VE day, is a wee cracker (maybe even a stoater) and it's a nice clip. Had me and
The accent isn't strong, you won't need subtitles, especially if you're just here for the bagpipes.
(If you can't see the clip in your country, and want to, I found it by searching for Joanna Lumley VE day)

Will watch the video clip later but just wanna pop in and say that I absolutely adore Joanna Lumley and even more so after her contribution to the Gurkha Justice Campaign!
Yeah I admire her too before your time but ask Art if he remembers her as Purdey - not even sure if the New Avengers made it to the US though
"Pinky" got her Honor Flight to D.C. just a few years ago ...
Still likes to tell how she was the only woman on a plane with eighty guys
She turned 98 in January & is the Senior Member & "Glamor Gal" of our Vets For Peace Chapter.
It's great that such heroes get the recognition while they're able to appreciate it!
Mic, in your video I was waiting for the punch line - that “YOU” were the patient in WW2 that Pinky most remembered.
Will watch in a bit..Just taking five from exercise.
She used to to stand-up comedy back in the day.
She's razor sharp & can be devastatingly sarcastic
Suspect she & MiMi would get on well.
Also Viv -- if both survived, of course.
Pinky's also Ginger. What's NOT to like?!
Can't keep a good ginger down, it seems.
And yeah, I liked the way they tied in that old clip of the Lancasters too
Glad you and Mimi enjoyed the clip
shortest clip I could find. None of her trademark high kicks though.
