Double Standard - American Style

I've referred to the parallel between Hong Kong Riots and American Riots before. As I recall the Western Press loudly yelled about Police brutality in Hong Kong. Tear gas and truncheons. There were a few shots fired, very few, and one attacking protester shot but not killed - this during almost 6 months of protests.

In fact there was rather more than that, and in 2 weeks of protests, some 11? 15? citizens have been shot and killed exercising their democratic right to protest. They weren't protesting perhaps, rioting and looting? What do you think the vandal elements in the HK protests were doing?

This article is from ABC TV News. I can assume the ultra conservative amongst you will rally behind claims of lefties and media bias, but in fact ABC has been staunchly pro-HK democracy movement.
