"Here it is: THE STORY OF A DREAM - It's hard for me to describe what I felt during this trip and what I feel now by sharing it with you! I can just say that I am hugely grateful that I could live such an unforgettable, unbelievable and dreamy experience ?????? Windsurfing, travelling to a paradise island, making new friends, feeling alive and happy, living special moments, getting out of my comfort zone and improving myself: all I always wanted and dreamed about it's in here! THE BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE"

That's Venezuela... Dreamy, unforgettable, unbelievable... heart beating

Francisky's Natural Pools... heart beating
Thanks for giving us a video introduction to Venezuela with both of your blogs.
I have enjoyed it a lot. thumbs up thumbs up
Awwww... Thank you so much, for your kind words, Jim...
I get a lot of messages from gentlemen that read me or view my profile and want to get to know me better... And this is a tiny window to my country, because most people know what they read or watch on the news... But that's just a mere circumstance... It will never change the fact that this country is a blessed land, that has amazing and extraordinary natural beauties found nowhere else... So, instead of me telling them about the breathtaking beauty of my country using words, I want them to see it themselves...
I am creating these blogs for them to be part of my profile and as a humble gift to anyone that wants to read/watch them... Again, thank you so much... bouquet
What is your most favorite part, that you have been to ?
Hi Melody,

I spent a day at Margarita Island many years ago while on a Caribbean cruise. Such beautiful beaches and unspoiled. I rescued a flying fish floundering in the shallows.

I bought 2 bottles of Orange rum . Very potent indeed.

Such lovely memories.sigh
Melody ~ Beautiful experience, thanks for those videos. It must be a divine place to live, the lifestyle , the weather.... cool love
Margarita used to be a paradise too, until around 2005 when it became infamous for pirates and armed thieves. No more camping-out on the beaches. That was while Mico Mandante was still dictator. Have life and tourism become safer under Maduro?
@ kornbluth

I think I was in Margarita about 2001 and to my knowledge we were warned then that there were a few undesirables on the island and to be careful.

I did notice the intense heat though and you couldn't walk on the sand with no shoes.

Loved it though.
As I've said before, your love of beautiful Venezuela, and your people, are great. The videos are honest and alluring. Change will come.
Many of your islands were overwintering storm shelters for sailors. I never did so, but it is on the bucket list.
Now, how about the contact info on the lovely Rubia in the clips. R.
Beautiful video. thumbs up
You are such a great ambassador of goodwill for your lovely country Melody. I don't think right now is the best time for tourists to visit but hopefully things will change for the better in the near future. wine
May peace and stability return to your country Melody.
Jim... I have to say I don't have a favorite at the moment... I have gone to the desertic part of my country (Falcón), to Caracas and to Mérida (really cold and with snowy peaks)... I am trying to find the right word to express how wonderful it is to have such amount of natural beauty in such a small area of land... My state is as hot as you can think of, but if I get on a plane I would be in Los Andes in 20 minutes, with an ultra cold weather... But I have to say that having read what people that have visited "Roraima" have said about it being the trip and experience of a lifetime, and it being a place so difficult to get to, I would say that will be my favorite... To be able to go to a place where the most ancient rock formations are... Almost three kilometers high, with flora and fauna ONLY found there, clouds beneath your feet... To hear people saying to be there it's like being in a whole other world ("Arthur Conan Doyle used Roraima as the inspiration for his novel the “Lost World, a tale of modern dinosaurs”.)... Just to imagine being there, breathing that air, feeling that special vibe makes my heart beat faster... And to be able to fly over the Angel Falls on a chopper (not sure if the chopper can land on top of it) has to be unbelievable, too... I mean, what else could anyone ask for?... I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, to be honest... I love to challenge myself... And I am not the kind of person that likes to go where everybody goes or do what everyone does, so MY perfect destination is a magical place where only a very few priviledged ones have been... "Roraima"... bouquet
German, "Margarita" is another wonderful treasure of Venezuela's... And we have not only the best "cacao" in the world, but also great rums... "Cacique", "Pampero", "Santa Teresa" are just a few of the amazing rums my country produces... I have to confess I have never heard of "Orange Rum" but I guess if it was like an artisan product, it could make a hundred horses sleep for a month, jajajajajajajajajajajajajaja... laugh hug bouquet
Korn... I have had relatives shot to steal his car and kidnapped to obtain money from her family... I know of people (the owners of a high class market I buy some groceries at) that have been kidnapped more than once... But even they, haven't thought of leaving, because we all know this is a circumstance and will pass... Not only at Margarita, but anywhere in my country, what happens to you depends on the choices you make and the places you go... I have never been robbed or hurt in any way... I always keep a very low profile... I am never alone and walk with people that know the area very well and I am not scared or show any kind of vulnerability... Bad things do happen to anyone, though... Not just in my country but in the whole world... And to answer to your question, no one was/is safe with criminals holding power... bouquet
My sweet and funny Vierk... My love for my country is just the obvious consequence of having a pair of eyes and a beating heart... To see how splendid and generous nature has been with this piece of land, only makes me love it with everything I got in me... I hope you grab that bucket (Don't kick it, please laugh) and take out that list and come see this wonderful land yourself, when all this crazy virus mess is over... And don't worry, I will send your email vierkstreehouse@geeeeemaildotcom to the blonde lady... laugh laugh laugh hug bouquet
Tall, thank you so much... bouquet
Soon, thank you so much for your kind words... As I said, I am creating these blogs for them to be part of my profile... And Amen to that... I never lose faith and/or hope that things will be better... Everything I have been through has made me the human being and the person I am now and for that, I am grateful... bouquet
Amen, sweet Snowlynx... bouquet
"I have never been robbed or hurt in any way... I always keep a very low profile... I am never alone and walk with people that know the area very well and I am not scared or show any kind of vulnerability."

If you feel safe then, one of my favorite beach towns was (I think) San Juan Unare, where the pavement ends on Paria Peninsula.
Melody you write very well in English. It doesn't come out like it was written in Spanish and then run through a translating software. I always think in English then try and translate into Spanish. How do you do it?
Korn, maybe those beach towns look very much like Los Roques?... The Paria Peninsula is in the Sucre state, very close to Nueva Esparta state and Margarita Island... How come you ended up, there?... I remember you told me you had come here, before... I think you planned to buy a finca or had it and sold it?... I am trying so hard to remember... confused bouquet
Soon, you are so sweet... Nope... I don't use any special tools except my cute and useful little brain, jajajajaajajjaja... I heard once that somebody said you had to stop thinking in your native language to translate to other languages, so I tried it and it works... I think of the words in English... And at this moment, I have found myself to be speaking more English than Spanish... But, I have to say if you hear me speaking English, I don't sound that bad; I have been told my accent is "hot" and even that I sound like a US citizen... BUT, if you hear me speaking Spanish, that's LETHAL... Jajajajajajajajajajaa... It's so funny... I met a Spanish gentleman like two weeks ago... He asked me if I would chat via WhatsApp and I said yes... We were typing until he sent an audio... And it felt strange to hear a person that spoke my same language but in a purest form of Spanish... And then, when I replied, I was just waiting to hear what he had to say... He said: "¡Awwwwwwww, qué acento más bonito tienes!"... So, it's really funny because he always says he loves my voice and my accent and the way I express myself and whenever I try to speak like him, he says I do it horribly... Jajajajajajajajajaja... laugh bouquet
You've made me fall in Love with Venuzua but being an American I would be afraid. We have a pretty crazy government in America too.
And you have made my eyes teary... Thank you so much, for your kind words, Unfayzed... I am creating these blogs because people ask me about my country... Venezuela is not the bunch of criminals that have taken over it temporarily... Venezuela is a land so blessed with all kinds of nature's gifts... Desert, jungle, the most ancient rock formations on earth, the most beautiful beaches, snowy peaks, unbelievable amounts of oil, gold, the best "cacao" in the world, the most incredible phenomenons like the Catatumbo Lightning... You name it... This is the absolute paradise... And nobody can or will change that... These criminals will be gone... They are NOTHING... But my Venezuela with her amazing beauties and her most wonderful sons and daughters is EVERYTHING... As I always say:
Venezuela... My country... My home... My love... heart beating
Beautiful.
It is... Thank you so much, La Fonda... bouquet
