Prolific bank robber brought to book

Prolific bank robber brought to book as inadvertent consequence of covid rules.

Career criminal, Lee Champion, was taken into custody earlier this week in connection with a series of unsolved bank robberies. He was captured on cctv during a raid at a branch of Barclay’s Bank in Cardiff, and was easily identified, being already well known to the police.

Lee has always worn a face covering on his previous jobs, making identification almost impossible, regardless of the fact that the police had a pretty good idea of who was behind the robberies.

He would have worn a mask on his last robbery, had it not been for government rules making the wearing of face masks mandatory in all enclosed public places, including banks. Lee simply could not bring himself to conform to government dictate.

Now it seems that Lee’s principles have cost him his liberty. As he was led into the courtroom for his plea hearing he was heard to shout out to gathered reporters, “I would rather go to prison than live like a sheep”. An onlooker outside the court made the comment, “It doesn’t make much difference, he’ll still be penned up”.

Bail was denied.

The people are happy he got caught and has been taken off the street.

Not wearing a mask has cause the spread of the virus. Some people who choose NOT to wear a mask have contracted Covid. Some learn from their mistakes and some still denied that wearing a mask is just a way for government to control its citizens.

HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19. Wear a bloody mask. frustrated
Hi, LaFonda. wave

Please don't do that to your head. hug
I have to be honest. It feels very odd walking into a bank with a mask on.
Only last year, that would have been a security issue, that would have been met with
a guard and a call to police before one could take a step towards the tellers.
I would have guessed that more professional bank robbers would take advantage of this situation, but if anything it's resulted in less bank robbing. Perhaps the pros upon arrival, assume the bank is already being robbed. laugh
Yes, Jim, our present situation has turned some things on their head. I've never lived through anything like this before, and I'm 65 you know. sigh
I had no idea about what your exact age is. dunno
Regardless, yes, it is a very strange year.
We have a dangerous virus within most countries in the world
and a dangerous narcissist & dictator wannabe here in the oval office.
It's certainly not the ideal situation.
Nearly 65½, Jim. I'm so, so ,so old. blues
Harb ~ Good news about Lee Champion. applause another baddie off the streets.
Now you are 64 and a half. What's the sigh for ?
I am 69 and feel grateful to be alive. wink Especially when I go in to the bedroom looking for something and walk out and realise I can't remember what I was looking for.
Lee Champion, apparently, feels that there has been a miscarriage of justice, and has launched quite an emotional protest, gg. I don't think this drama has fully played out yet.

I, for one, will be watching with interest. popcorn
I sometimes feel that I've already been here long enough, gg. sigh

If it weren't for all my good works on the forum and blogs, I don't think I would have any purpose at all. innocent
It's all relative.
"Old" is just 20 years in age difference.
When you are 5, 25 is old. laugh
When you are 20, 40 is old.
When you are 65, 85 is old.... etc.
This pandemic, long quarantines, and lost of jobs results in a rise in robbery.

The mask help the thieves to get away without being ID.
